Miles and miles on my own
Warm with shame, I follow on
A language to find hard to hear
Not to understand, just disappear

To hold your heart, to hold your hand
Would be to me, the greatest thing
To hold your heart, hold your hand
Would be to me, the bravest thing

Could you take my place and stand here?
I do not think you would take this pain
You'd be on your knees and struggle under the weight
Oh, the truth would be a beautiful thing
Oh, the truth is a beautiful thing

I wear another thought of you
With so much harm my gift to you
Hide you somewhere they don't know
Deep in my core you know you have a throne

Hold your heart, hold your hand
Would be to me, the greatest thing
To hold your heart, to hold your hand
Would be to me, the bravest thing

Could you take my place and stand here?
I do not think you would take this pain
You'd be on your knees and struggle under the weight
Oh, the truth would be a beautiful thing
Oh, the truth is a beautiful thing

Well, if you really wanted to be tough guy, macho, super individualistic, you could always bang your head against a brick wall for half an hour.

Or head out and hurt a stranger.....
Great album.  Love it.

This soulful voice ... this wonderful piano ... leaves me speechless. Wow, just wow! But I have to disagree with Hannah: sometimes truth ist too hard to bear (and especially hard to find these days).
One of the most piercing, perfectly enchanting voices in Music today. Thanks, RP, for making me aware of such a Beautiful Thing!

I was going to say something about how good Florence and the Machine can be when Flo Welch can stop herself from shouting. It's not them at all!

But could I forgiven for finding the voices similar in character?

Oh, and a beautiful song which has brought tears to my eyes for no apparent reason. Bastards.

True enough in its fashion.  But no offense meant to Flo as I like her, but she's more the bellowing type.  Subtlety doesn't seem her strong suit.  This London Grammar lady however...she sings quite nicely to my admittedly unrefined ears; such as I have left after all these years.  Heh!

Hauntingly beautiful...
I have to stop what I'm doing and just listen when this comes on.
And BTW - her voice is impeccable live. Her tuning is perfect.
Hannah Reid, eh?
I'm a bit unhealthily obsessed with these guys at the moment....
Wow, such an intensely beautiful and emotive voice, makes my hair stand on end in a good way every time I hear it.  That said, a post below referenced a YT vid, which I checked out along with the others posted there, and found that London Grammar's music is all rather similar; I hope they can develop more variety in their sound.  They are obviously hugely popular in Europe and in the USA, so let's keep the fingers crossed that they can stay ahead of their label's fiscal pressures and let their young creativity flow.
8 for the vocals.
This song is a beautiful thing.
Very nice.  I'm picking up a Joan Armatrading vibe.

So worth seeing the live version at Glastonbury this year.

Wow. Incredible... Such a distinctive, easily identifiable, and utterly remarkable voice, and it's delivered with passion and skill. I love it...
Most Excellent singer  : )

Fabulous voice. I love it. A good alto and spacey moody song!
Quality shines through all! Will be adding this to my collection. It's always great to discover a gold nugget on RP. Mil gracias.

Nasty backlash!

Great voice, nice instrumentation. Interesting arrangement.

I'll have to bump up my grade on hearing this the first time to counter the evilness of the 1s....

This is nice.
Not nearly as good as their debut album, but still likeable. Every track sounds the same, though.

I am really enjoying this album.
First one.  {#Roflol}  Brooding, pensive cover....nice font.
