When we started brewing, we were in school and fairly broke. We spent a good bit of our free cash on the first batch and were fairly upset when the one guy with brewing experience told us we would have to wait at least a month before it would be drinkable and preferably 6-8 weeks. We started drinking it at one week. It was bitter and full of live yeast, we suffered mightily for our foolishness. We tied it again the next weekend and found it only slightly improved. We kept up this process, and it was almost decent by the time we finished it.

My favorite artsy IPA is back! Except it's not the 6.8% i like so much, it's a 4.4% Session IPA. I'll be tasting it a bit later.

I made a batch of Imperial Stout one time. It boiled over and made a heck of a mess so it was named Trash the Kitchen Stout. Stuck it in the back of a cupboard and rediscovered it 3 years later. It was divine.

Now be honest: did you suffer the concussion before you drank the three year-old beer or did the stuff just punch you silly on the way to your stomach?

Oh yea, I have tried this one. It's good. I have tried every Marzen Lager I can get my hands on, crazily enough Samuel Adams of all people (not one of my favorite brewers) still has the best Marzen I have tried. It is strange because the rest of their brews kinda suck. lol

Around mid or late August is my favorite beer time of year, these start showing up.  Samuel Adams is not the greatest brewery around, but they nailed it with the Marzen Lager better than the Germans and no matter what other crappy beers they put out, they can always claim this masterpiece, love em in the cans!
