I also invite foreigners for norwegian stuff:) It's fun! No matter what country they are from.

I am glad you had a good time here. NTNU and Studentersamfunnet is cool, so many good conserts!
I have myself been to 21 countries, and realized one thing... traveling is not about the country itself, moving from A to B.. but about people :)

Definitely. I have traveled extensively as well, and not only is it about the people you meet in other countries, but, for me, it is also about finding out things about myself that I only could discover while traveling.

And I LOVED Studentersamfunnet! What a blast!

My home is in Minnesota and we have many visiting people from Norway. Also some great musicians from Norway have played here.

Princess Marta Louise visted us last year for her book signing. She was so beautiful and gracious. She's become very controversial lately I hear, but I like her any way!

Welcome to RP!

I was in Trondheim on a vacation back in 1989 and LOVED it. A woman I'd never met invited me to stay with her family while I was there - such nice and welcoming people. Her daughter was about my age and we spent alot of time partying at NTNU. What fun! Thanks for reminding me.

Hey! Pacific Blue just opened shop in N.Z. today and has already sold over 60,000 airfares at ridiculously low prices... as low as $70 round trip between Auckland and Christchurch. I was a little late, but still got tickets for $80 r.t. Booked a trip to Christchurch for my son and me in January, but will be back in plenty of time to meet up with you when you`re here.

One other bit of news... Warriors are finally playing well and this weekend`s game is sold out in Auckland for the 1st time since 1995.

Thanks for the heads up.. still haven't booked out tickets yet but we'll be flying Akld Chur chur mid Jan too.. Maybe we can find something.

Sorry to jack the thread Candela! Where else but RP can you go into a thread about Norway to read about cheap airfares in New Zealand!!

EDIT: or rugby league for that matter..

Edit: Original somewhat amusing article about Karl Rove's daddy moved somewhere else. My gutfeel is that Norwegians have a better sense of humor than do most of us PC locked down American psyches, albeit somewhat dry. Would have prefered their reaction but I respectfully take your point, Turtle.

Norwegians often do have a very dry sense of humor, so would probably find the whole thing rather ironic, but maybe not in the same way you might think.

I'm of Norwegian descent, & I found it ironic! It caused me to wonder if Karl Rove might have some "hang-ups" that stemmed from his step-father. Maybe something that would make him such a control freak.

I just thought the article should be spread around a little more. Thanks for moving it nuggler.

Hvordan stor de til! I used to live in Norway from '72 to '76, some of the best years of my life. My father was part in NATO stationed at Kolsas. I get back every 3-4 years, my best friend and family came over for 3 weeks this summer, his daughter stayed with us an additional 3 weeks, we'll be over there next August to visit them, just outside of Oslo, Tyrifjord.
Glad to see a Viking around RP!

Ha det bra!
