Yeah, maybe the trick is they served Old Milwaukee colder than the other beers. A cold beer on a hot day definitely has an edge on the competition.

After seeing your pic, I'm curious and I'm going to check & see how many of those beers my local Kroger sells.

Interesting article about Schlitz... "controlled flight into terrain."

Good article. Schlitz definitely made a lot of mistakes, this one probably being the most egregious: "Schlitz decided to use another beer stabilizer instead, one that would be filtered out of the final product and thus would not have to be listed as among the ingredients. Unfortunately, what Schlitz's brewing technicians did not know was that the new anti-haze agent, called Chill-garde, would react in the bottles and cans with the foam stabiliser they also used, to cause protein to settle out. At its best this protein looked liked tiny white flakes floating in the beer and at its worst it looked like mucus, or "snot," as one observer bluntly called it."

My father gave me a collection of beer glasses that have logos from those beer brands above, and I happen to be drinking a beverage from one of the Schlitz glasses as I type this. Strange coincidence!

Edit: I had thought that Hamm's and Schlitz went out of business... but that's apparently not the case.

They are sweetened, but still taste like a cherry. Tillen farms also makes Maraschino a Rainier varieties, but I think the Bings are best for their tartness and super dark color. They really add to a cocktail.

You'll never go back to the red wax balls again.

It's not fruit salad unless it has grapes in it.  Which might make it sangria (yeah, not a purist either0
