Right knee- 4 times arthroscopic= 3 times meniscus repair... 1 time new "bone epoxy" injection.  The three shots of "Uflexa" injections.
Left knee- 2 times arthroscopic= both times meniscus repair along with the same "bone epoxy" injection.
Everything but replacement.

I can still function fine. They just hurt when I need to work them.
An Alieve a day seems to help some.

I probably need to resurrect my dirt bike racing career again and force them to work right... or have them fall off completely. {#Mrgreen}

Wow, that's a long time. The boss' stroke was actually in his neck in one of the major arteries supplying the brain. He was at a triathlon as an observer, taking pictures, and someone asked him about his camera. He looked at it and answered a couple of questions with "I don't know." At first, people thought he was just blowing off the person so he could shoot the race, but something about it bugged the physical therapist standing next to him, so that guy asked him one more question that, since they were friends there together, he knew John would answer. Nope. So the PT hauled him to the hospital himself.

A neurosurgeon did a consult in the emergency room because cerebellar strokes can put pressure on the top of the spinal column, which would require surgery. He was completely confident that Mark would not need surgery, and he was damned hilarious in explaining it to us. I would *never* expect a neurosurgeon to have such a great sense of humour - it was a relief to laugh.

I left work and took him to the emergency room.  They said it was pretty much resolved by then.  I don't think you'd want to wait three days with a front-brain stroke, but yeah, he's almost 100 percent and will be doing PT just because. Oh, and then there's the new HBP and cholesterol meds that will be part of his life. He may not realize it it, but he's got a new roommate:

He obviously got to the hospital in good time; once there, they do really well at managing strokes. My boss had a stroke a few years ago (same age as me!) and you'd never know it. He avoids overexertion, etc. and has to manage his weight more thru diet than exercise, but he's fine. Just takes some time for the brain to reroute signals around the injury, which is pretty cool when you think about it.
