Delighted to hear my efforts resonated with you all!  Regarding the 17-32 numbering: this had me baffled until I looked at the word file with the cover art.  There were two sets per page and, apparently, Word decided to continue the numbering from the first label (1-16) to the second (17-32) like a continued list and I didn't notice.  Doh! So some of you have a 1-16 numbering and some a 17-32 numbering, but the tracks are all the same.

Also, it wasn't as apparent as I wanted it to be, but each track listing on the cover art is done in the RGB colour coding for the country's flag.

And finally, I would like to apologize for not marking the title on the physical CDs.  I had them sealed up when I realized I had forgotten to write on them and that (aside from the cute LP-looking graphic from the manufacturer) they'd be pretty anonymous-looking.

My personal notes:
Bert Jansch is one of my guitar heroes (and also from Scotland), so when I heard this Donovan track in homage to him, I *had* to include it;
I discovered both Kila and Juana Molina when hunting for "eclectic radio stations" online...about three years before I found RP in 2004;
And, if you like the Bregovic, you simply must watch "Underground," the Kusterica film which featured that song on the soundtrack!

And I have seen nine of these 16 artists perform live (circumstances prevented me from seeing an additional two) - yes, Marty, I am spoiled rotten!

You know for a moment I thought the numbering of 17 - 32 was that you made a different disc for each member and I just happened to have #2. Now that would have been going WAY above and beyond!. Nice touch with the color coding, didn't notice that till you mentioned it.

For my first tour of the world with Maryte I did enjoy most of the countries on the trip. The western Europe portion with Scotland, France and especially England were just fantastic. I've always loved the view from The Flat Earth as seen thru the Eyes of Mr. Dolby. Very nice. Eastern Europe was OK, not my favorite place in the world, but good for the occasional listen.The stops in Africa and South America were certainly different and diverse. And always good to be back on your home continent with The Good Old USA and some unknown to me artists that really made me feel at home.  And of course the stop over in Canada was GREAT, love Ottowa's favorite son Bruce!.

Thanks for taking us on the trip and opening up the ears to some new sites and sounds. {#Clap}

As I said before this was a pleasant parallel to a lot of the music I listen to, parallel being the operative word because other than the Whitley and Kidjo, I don't think I have heard any of these songs even though I have other songs from these artist.  As Lazy states it was interesting how you could never guess the country of origin by these songs and I listen to a lot of world music.  I too loved that Donovan track and that was a really interesting Neil Finn song, really creative. I have to do some more listening to the Finn and all their clan, they are so talented. Loves me some Goran Bregovic, how can you not be happy listening to him?  I always say that he sounds like an Ommpah band on meth.{#Dancingbanana} l  Never heard this one though, great song and will soon be added to my library.  Hands down favorite song on the mix is Taraf de Haidouks; I only have a few songs by them, I had no idea they were such virtuosos! Just a marvelous song.{#Clap}

One more thing, what's up with the 17-32 numbering, was this a second cd of a series?

Anyway great mix and I am glad you are back in the fold, diversity makes us stronger. {#War}

Out for delivery today!

The CD in my desktop isn't talking to Windows at the moment, so I had to wait for a trip to town to play the disk in the car. Turned out to be perfectly appropriate for a dark, foggy night's drive. Listened to the second half with a good friend who used to host a world music show on the local college radio station—he approved.

One thing that struck me was that most of the songs didn't sound like what I expected from the country of origin, the Irish especially. The guitars on that one could be straight out of Mali and I couldn't detect a trace of Irish lilt in the singing.

Lots of new stuff to my ears. Standouts were the Donovan cut and The Tellers. Gotta follow up on those. Angelique Kidjo was a surprise as well—thought I was familiar with her work, guess I wasn't! The Argentine cut was delightful as well. Damned fine effort, one that's getting into regular rotation. {#Cheers}
