There are serious, adult conversations to be had about immigration policy, and I’m always down to have them.
  1. It is not at all necessarily racist, bigoted, or xenophobic to want to consider different policies which would regulate how many people should be allowed to come to the U.S. each year, and to debate what should disqualify applicants from a visa.

I just used those very words in that context yesterday and in regards to my treatment regarding any discussions on the subject.

And yes, there is a line, many, many lines.  A line begins at every port of entry, every consulate and embassy.  Problem is they are run just the way that draft boards operated before we had a lottery.  If you pissed off someone who sat on your local draftboard, your name might just move higher up the list or your classification changed and off you went to Nam.  Works in reverse in immigration.  You go down the list.  And no, a lottery is not the answer for immigration.

How many people come here should be determined by our capacity to integrate them correctly and productively in our country.  Jobs, shelter and food.  There isn't enough for the people already here.  That's the whole point.  As we grow as a country there will be more room, but we cannot instantly produce this stuff out of thin air.  That is why we need limits and order.  The pie is only so big.  We grow in a controlled and orderly way, so people do not become dependent because of lack of opportunity to be self sufficient or slip through the cracks.  No one wants to wait for anything anymore.  Long term used to mean 5 years in resource planning.  Now 5 minutes is too long to wait or even think that far into the future.

Cliche' time.  Good things come to those who wait ...

Nah, that won't happen to me...
Minister who supported Trump now faces deportation under immigration crackdown
Jorge Ramirez, an Oceanside minister and immigrant in the country illegally, didn't think he would end up in line for deportation when he encouraged his daughter, a U.S. citizen, to vote for Donald Trump.

In line with his conservative religious beliefs, Ramirez considers himself a Republican, he said in an interview at Otay Mesa Detention Center, where he is awaiting deportation proceedings. Border Patrol picked him up after staking out his house early one May morning, and he's been in the detention facility since.

Ramirez said he does not know why he is being targeted for removal from the U.S. The Trump administration has said that it is targeting criminals and those who have already been ordered deported. Ramirez said he falls into neither category.

"Trump said, 'Let's keep all the good people here and all the bad people out,'" Ramirez said.

"That's great, but I'm here," Ramirez said of his detention situation. "If I'm here, anybody can be here. I'm not saying I'm the best person in the world, but I've tried to live a good life."

Ramirez worked as a satellite television technician, and frequently went to Camp Pendleton. Issues with his security clearance brought him to the attention of authorities in December.

He said he supports the Republican agenda on fiscal and social issues and that he still supports President Trump.

"Everything that he's said against immigrants - it's not that I'm in favor, but bad people don't belong here," Ramirez said. "In order to make America great, you have to have people contributing to this country."

Ramirez said he also encouraged his youngest daughter to volunteer with the campaign of Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif. (...)
Illegal brown people would vote Democratic, while intelligent white folks vote Republican!

Her being harassed by paparazzi in helicopters is not the same as the issue of private vs public beaches and is not the same as immigration/borders.
Mashing all that together is meaningless. That pic of her with that slogan was stupid, mudslinging, a distractor. I'm done with it.

Here try a different view of her home ...

It's the hypocrisy of the elite living in sequestered and guarded areas yet saying let anyone come in, everywhere else but where they live.

And some further reading ... this is a very near and dear and very old concern of mine,  again beginning as I mentioned at 12 years old.  I was fighting the Irvine Ranch police for access to a beach that I had a freaking key to the gate to get in.  Mutherfuggers ...  It is now the location of a ritzy little golf thingy, Pelican Hill ...

Get off my beach! How the wealthy are laying claim to California's coast

And the view today ... I lived over in the cheap shake roof homes just north of the terra cotta roofs.  Pigtail knows of this.  IIRC, she once lived in the same place as did I.  This is the beach where I learned to surf.

Nope. So absolutely no.  There used to be only one place you could find me on the Innernet and this is it.  Now it's here and at Discogs and that is just about music.  Polytics just doesn't happen there.

Oh and being on the SPLC list is a joke as they are a joke.  I don't really care who made that meme anyway.  Its what it says that matters to me.

No thanks, but in order to have a FB page you still need to do "social media." Nobody says you have to share anything there, but at least you can read all the "important stuff" from pages you might like. "wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more."

What is says, as already pointed out, is nonsense. It may of course matter to you, but it is in fact a complete non-sequitur (what is the relation between open borders and her privacy? Open borders take away your privacy?). It would be like me saying "Hey since you're against (illegal) immigration, you can't listen to any foreign music." It does not follow/compute unless you're willing to do some serious mental gymnastics.

My takeaway is that you don't like Streisand or the SPLC for whatever reason. That kinda makes sense.

The other tricky access area back in the day is the old Hope Ranch up by Santa Barbara.  The stories told about sneaking in there are legendary.  You wanted to surf there ?  You needed a boat to make the trip.
