A noble thought, but the two parties have rigged the system so thoroughly, independents are just tilting at windmills. Election laws are written by the parties in power, to keep them in power.

Who is going to offer more parties? You? How? Where do you start, when you can't even get on a ballot without spending tens of thousands of dollars? Why would the ruling parties even allow anyone else on the ballot? Even if you did jump through all the hoops, the parties can just make more!

Don't get me wrong, in theory I really do agree with you. Unfortunately reality has a way of undermining theory.

I am already doing it, I have voted for virtually every 3rd party candidate on the ballots and have only had to skip a few choices over the years, the parties are already here and on the ballot and I have selected them. If you or anyone else does not select them, there is your free will.

I do not ignore it all, I simply refuse to vote for anyone with one of those letters next to their name. That is my mo for voting since 2010; always vote and always against the D or the R; if there is no other choice for the selection than the major parties then I will skip that choice as a protest to offer more parties on all ballots. We are almost there, 3rd party choices are available at virtually every level now and we all have free will.
