ME: Hi, I'm Lowell, and I have an EDM problem CROWD: Hi, Lowell ME: It all started a little over a year ago when I heard a CHVRCHES song on the radio. I fell in love...it was the gateway to my problem. Soon, I started buying up all of the CHVRCHES songs I could find. During that You Tube (or as I call it, The Enabler) bender, I stumbled upon CASH CASH, and it all started again with the buying and the listening, and the buying.... It wasn't long before I was into the really hard stuff; Above & Beyond, Borgeuos, Martin Solveig, Eric Prydz, and of course Alesso and Avicii. Now my car satellite is constantly set to BPM. Should I seek treatment?
Nice, good to see they are finally getting the full recognition they have long deserved. For me, the definitive Rush album is Permanent Waves. They were really kicking on all cylinders at that point before Geddy was consumed by the 80s as we all were and that blasted synthesizer! Alex Lifeson's guitar was always it for me, that was what made me sit through Geddy's shrieking till I got used to it. Very under discussed player when bringing up the rock guitar Gods.
Now that you mention it, i remember i have Alex's album Victor on CD. I haven't touched that one in over 15 years probably but i know exactly where it is....and now i have it in my hands. Gotta give that one a spin again sometime soon.
I have often been tempted to listen to more of Rush's albums because of the music. Maybe i'll just do what you did, sit through the shrieking until i get used to it.
