I'll be interested in what you think. Really, Todd/Kasim have been around forever doing Todd shows. So the only thing different here is adding in Willie and, by defining the band as Utopia, defining the setlist (which always included some Todd solo anyway).

I'm guessing - guessing - that Todd and Kasim are turning into Hall/Oates where they don't particularly like each other, but are dependent on each other for a successful tour. Look at the hype around them using the name Utopia. Amazing.

I'm guessing again that it had something to do with this:

Kasim Sulton's Utopia
with Jesse Gress on guitar.
Why the hell did he go do this? Without Todd, but with Todd's second guitarist. Why did Todd decline?

Thanks for the Mould review - never did hear back about that. Did he come out to do "Dear Rosemary" with FF? That's the song he does in the studio with them in "Back and Forth."

Y'know, it's funny. I know that Pat played (live) with Nirvana, but I always just count him as a member of Germs, which as a punk kid makes it cooler. If you played in bands with Darby Crash AND Kurt Cobain?  Sheesh.

Mould. Man. He was amazing. I felt a little disappointed that we were seeing him as opening act, because of the abbreviated setlist, but he found a way around that. The first 3 songs clocked in at less than 5 minutes.   After those songs, he says "Hi, I'm Bob.", then back to the unrelenting face-melting.

Foo Fighters are just a damn good band. I enjoyed their live show more than I'd figured I would, mostly because they're just so spur-of-the-moment about things. It was a good time. I also think that may have been the loudest show I've ever attended.

Saw him alone in SF, with a simple video camera pointed at him while he played guitar or piano and the camera broadcast a light show behind him with his image. In the midst of "We Can't Play This Game Anymore" he folded in "Connect the dots, la lala la" and I was the only one laughing.

He played a Filmore show wearing bike shorts, doing "Beloved Infidel" holding a numeric keypad that he used to trigger each chord of the synth while he sang over it.

I stood hugging the stage watching him do AWATS start to finish with costume changes - Roger Powell a few rows behind me gently conducting the band to himself - he had played in all the shows prior but now it was Moogy on stage.

In a small restaurant in Napa my wife and I danced wildly in the back with a half dozen other people (some were neophytes) while Todd & the girls put on an uproarious EMD show as everyone in the middle sat and ate their food stoically. He commented on in a month later when he played again at a different Napa venue "at least this isn't dinner theater."

Caught him in SF a couple of months ago at a disappointing "Unpredictable Evening" show where he complained repeatedly during the performance and didn't do an encore.

How many times? I'm like a Deadhead, but with Todd. Every show is something worth seeing and this, the White Knight tour, should be no exception. He's the real deal, and his thinking about his place in life usually mimics my own pretty closely. "If I want more peace in the world, I must make peace with myself."

I'm so envious! The Struts were laughable. Their lead singer is like a Freddie Mercury-Mick Jagger-Steven Tyler amalgamation, whose voice absolutely sucks, who boarded a time machine in the 80s and came to visit 2017 (with all his cliche rock star lines - "Are you ready to rock??") and whose music is totally unoriginal and who dresses like a Native American Elvis with fringes on his ankles and shirt - but with the hilarious intensity of Rick on the Young Ones (and even rolls his r's like Rick). The guy had energy, moves, and moxy that wouldn't quit - his saving grace.

The Foos love him - Taylor Hawkins took the Bowie part of "Under Pressure" in a duet with the Struts' lead singe - not bad, actually.

But....Bob Mould. Got dammit.
And,........the Foos absolutely rocked it and made it worth every hard-earned penny, like always. Dave's voice was a little shredded, though - I hope he drinks lots of tea and honey before your show.
