sun is shining, the weather is sweet
make you want to move your dancing feet
to the rescue, here i am
want you to know, y'all, where i stand

(Monday morning) here i am
want you to know just if you can
(Tuesday evening) where i stand
(Wednesday morning)
tell myself a new day is rising
(Thursday evening) get on the rise
a new day is dawning
(Friday morning) here i am
(Saturday evening) want you to know just
want you to know just where i stand

when the morning gathers the rainbow
want you to know i'm a rainbow too
so, to the rescue here i am
want you to know just if you can
where i stand, know, know, know, know, know

we'll lift our heads and give Jah praises
we'll lift our heads and give Jah praises, yeah

sun is shining, the weather is sweet
make you want to move your dancing feet
to the rescue, here i am
want you to know just if you can
where i stand

(Wednesday morning)
tell myself a new day is rising
(Thursday evening) get on the rise

want you to know just where i stand

want you to know I'm a rainbow too
so to the rescue, here i am
want you to know just if you can
where i stand, know, know, know, know, know

we'll lift our heads and give Jah praises (repeat)
sun is shining, the weather is sweet
make you want to move your dancing feet
to the rescue, here i am
want you to know just if you can
where i stand, no, no, no, no, where i stand
sun is shining, sun is shining

This song is not from Survival. It's the fourth song on side one of Kaya.

Thank you Bob Marley
for  Sun Is Shining

To me it's 7 - Quite Likeable

Perhaps one of my favorite Bob Marley song It's a 10 for me.
More often this song cames at the right moment of my day, love and need it
{#Sunny} Always love this. Never too much airplay on RP.

Marley stuff a major snoozefest. Death by overplay. Strictly for the Carnival Cruise Crowd.
Yesssss!
HAPPY 420~ {#Daisy}

  Surely this is THE most boring of all popular music genres:

yeah it is,
it bores me more when I am smoking the sacred herb
i think it goes better with large amounts of alcohol
but i don't enjoy alcohol anymore
i'm also amazed that reggae gets a zillion times more airplay on RP than
soul, jazz, blues, hip-hop, disco, house, gospel, funk combined.

                                                           Whatever Bob Marley understood more.
Whoever wrote this musta been high on ganja . . . oh, never mind.
Immaculate and wonderful
Bob, the 7-day-a-week ice cream man. Every day scoop-a-doop-scoop-scoop :o)
PERFECT {#Sunny}{#Cowboy}
Funny choir of chipmunks in the background. Whatever, I like it.

Nice vibe, repetitive lyrics. There are other great reggae artists. Can we hear more of them please?
Once again Bob Marley to the rescue{#Music}{#Clap}
I live in the deep, deep Caribbean - you would think that you would hear a lot of reggae down here. You would be wrong! Soca has taken over, at least with the under-35 crowd. Me no like soca. At least the old guys still like reggae.

Real old-school reggae like this will live on forever, I hope.

Still my favorite BM song.
Did I hear the DJ talk through the song? {#Zip-lip} Amazing...
"When the morning gathers the rainbow, want you to know I'm a rainbow too"  Rest in peace Nelson Mandela.  {#Sunny}

Bob, always a pleasure to hear. I think it's a gen thing with loving regg, from Toots to now, growing up with it and the memories of the 70s and 80s. Awesome.

How many times will you Reggae dweebs listen to the same tune/rhythm/sentiments and say "It's just as terrific as the last 1,000 times I heard this same piece dressed up as though it's new work".   .... clipped ....

They're stoners, dude.  They may not realize they've heard it before.

The same could be said about classic rock dweebs and the Stones, Hendrix and Pink Floyd. How do you feel about those bands?

Marley is an icon to be sure, but there is other reggae. I enjoy Burning Spear, among others.
