Hey I said you're godless and
It seems like you're a soulless friend
As spotless as you were back then
I swear that you are godless
Hey I guess you're lonely when
I gave you all it took so then
A stranger there is ever been
I guess, it's what you wanted
Of late, it seems lonely I would be
I begged, I plead
But this is all that I have gotten
Hey as for the day my friend
To hope that you could ever bend
I swear you are, I swear you are
I swear, that you are godless
Hey I said you're godless
Hey and you're a soulless friend
Hey I said you're heartless
And I swear, I swear
Godless
Godless
you're godless

Don't forget the 6:08 live version!  Dandy's recorded two shows at the Wonder ballroom in Portland in 2013 that came out in 2014 (Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia Live At The Wonder).  And brought the horn player!  Some tasty trumpet on this cut

Portland IPAs and the DWs.  Best day ever!
Godless is Godlike! Once this is done on to find that +5 minute version!

There is an "extended outro" on the "Capital Years" version which puts it over 5 minutes

I feel that way about the entire song. Another post below mentioned that this is on nearly all of their playlists. Same here. I have been guilty of hitting repeat for this one! If someone puts out a 5 minute long re-mix - I'm in!

Thank you for this information!

Now that is a funny comeback, Proclivities!

And even to this day I don't get how George H was found to have unconsciously plagiarized the Chiffons' "He's so Fine"  - unbelievable really.  At least the Dandy Warhols made use of the "My Sweet Lord" sound humorously in giving us "Godless."  It's a 9 from this Sweaty Seattleite (hey it's in the 90s here {#Sunny}

Good call

this song is love at first sight.   Just listening to it by accident, if you wandered into a room where it is playing automatically makes you one of the Kool Kids!  It's that Kool.

F' it, me too! why do I only have this rated as a 9?

Fixed.

Love that intro distortion. So much. It could go on for another minute or two and I'd be perfectly fine with it.

Great song, love the melancholy film clip. This is on almost all of my regular playlists.
That horn line sounds just like Ed Kuepper from the late 80's

Featuring Herb Alpert.

Love it.

We're all godless. Wouldn't it be great if everyone realised that and stopped fighting over it.

I am  with you on that one brother
My Dead Lord
Everyone is godless. Unfortunately far too few people realise that fact.
Perfect right after Heroes!  {#Notworthy}
A great song from an excellent album. This album is so much fun, what a great vibe.

How was the show?

It was fantastic to meet all of them.  They were very cool and down to earth.  Got to see about 3 songs during sound check, then the band hung out with us for a bit.  The show itself was great - but they had trouble with getting the sound right in the venue, so that could have been better.  Highly recommend seeing them if you can.

uh..what about churches?  oh...they are out of vogue nowadays because you find entire families there.

Churches, yes! My bad. My parents took my brothers and me to church about five times by the time I was 10 and then gave it up, so I don't have much personal experience to draw on. Now, M&D are hip-deep in their Unitarian local.

1/5/16 edit: Excellent segue from Bowie "Heroes" to this, which in a fit of enthusiasm I have boosted to 10.

How was the show?
Saw them in Chicago recently they were excellent. If a fan definitely do the VIP option - they were VERY cool to meet and hang out with, plus seeing their sound check and a few songs they did, including my own request!  Courtney told me they will have a new album out in early 2016..!  He shared the production and editing became epic, but almost done.

BTW, Dig! movie fans, I asked about that and they all agreed it was very much edited to show tension between them and BJM that really was not there....your inside scoop of the day.

The opening strums of the guitar sounded like "My Sweet Lord" the George Harison rip-off.

Nice musical pun (or at least a musical allusion). That song mentions 5 (or so) different forms of God, and this song is called Godless...

A riff is as good as a lawsuit.

Missed my chance to see them in Chicago 2 weeks ago- thunderstormed out!  One day I'll see them again.
11!
This sounds just like the Boo Radleys.

Edit: that's a compliment
