That thing would file a grievance with the union as soon as I told it what a shit job it did with the 501s I left in the dryer for 3 days.

Nissan Embeds Self-Parking Tech in Pillows and Slippers

I never knew how badly I needed a self-parking slipper until now

Nissan, like every other car manufacturer that doesn't want to be rendered mostly obsolete within the next few decades, has been gradually developing autonomous technology for its vehicles. They've been going about it very sensibly, introducing discrete modules like highway assist and parking assist, and they've managed to get the parking bit working well enough to take it beyond cars. One such attempt at an even more challenging and important self-parking application: slipper arrangements.

Wow, that's pretty nice! Four lanes, and a ton of cars!
I'm surprised you don't have aftermarket controllers, that's probably my next upgrade. You can wire the track to have active braking on the cars, like real racing.

When I was a kid, a friend had a train set hinged to the wall, so you could fold it up out of the way. It worked great, but you couldn't rearrange the layout, which is half the fun of slots. I'm considering an L-shaped layout in a corner.

Banked turns are fun but can be tricky to implement unless you have long straights (like above)

Yeah. I have slowly collected stuff through the years. And it's amazing how much stuff is still out there.
Almost all my cars have rare earth magnets. So they come to a stop or slow down real quick.
Even my older style Aurora "Magna- Traction" cars have beefy magnets. They're still fun to race with too.
The controllers have been modified with better heavy duty resisters.

I get bored after about a week of the same track. So I love to change the layouts.
I love the versatility of using sheet rock and saw horses for a table.
You can see from the last time I set it up... there's a 8 footer and a 4 foot piece of rock stuck together. I should have just used 1- 12 footer, but I cheated.
And when I'm done with the layout for a while... I can use the rock for work.

I do have a couple of sets of them.
I like the challenge of the flat corners.
And the way the "newer" cars handle with the rare earth magnets... you really don't need banked corners.
The cars rip!
