She was a fast machine
She kept her motor clean
She was the best damn woman that I ever seen
She had the sightless eyes
Telling me no lies
And knockin' me out with those American thighs
Taking more than her share
Had me fighting for air
She told me to come, but I was already there
'Cause the walls started shaking
The earth was quaking
My mind was aching
And we were making it
And you
Shook me all night long
Yeah, you
Shook me all night long
Working double time
On the seduction line
She was one of a kind, she's just mine all mine
Wanted no applause
Just another course
Made a meal out of me and come back for more
Had to cool me down
To take another round
Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing
But the walls were shaking
The earth was quaking
My mind was aching
And we were making it
And you
Shook me all night long
Yeah, you
Shook me all night long
And knocked me out
I said, you
Shook me all night long
You had me shaking and you
Shook me all night long
Yeah, you shook me
When you took me
You really took me and you
Shook me all night long
Ah, you
Shook me all night long
Yeah yeah, you
Shook me all night long
You really got me and you
Shook me all night long
Yeah, you shook me

Icehouse then Acadaca! Goodonya mate! Maybe some Men at Work, John Butler? American thighs are in Straya 😄
"Godlike"? HELL YEAH!
One of the best rock bands ever. Saw them back in 1976 on their 'If you want blood' tour at the Hammersmith Odeon. I was blown away and have been an avid supporter ever since!

10 10 rockin 10
I know, let's play "Stairway to heaven" some more too...
I was 15 when this hit. For those of us not inclined toward Punk, this blast of hard guitar rock was a great relief from our older siblings' disco records.
Forty Years and still kicks ass.

My brother was sick of me listening to his records, so he bought me one of my own for my 10th birthday and this was it. While my tastes have changes since 1980, this album still has a special place in my heart.

Randomly watched a Bon Scott interview on youtube recently.
Man, that guy OOOOZED rock.
I read a little about him afterwards.
He wasn't credited for anything on Back In Black, but it's said he wrote 'You Shook Me All Night Long'.
I had heard some AC/DC prior to Scott's death in 1980, and when Back In Black began to get airplay, the most appreciation I could muster was, that the new singer was trying to sound like the guy that died (and was failing). I was 19 going to school in NYC and there were plenty of distractions, and the new AC/DC just didn't cut it, to put it nicely.
I thought they blew.
Over the years, the Bon Scott AC/DC has knocked me out many times, but I still feel the same about the post Bon Scott stuff, which is ironic, as 'Back In Black' is one of the best selling albums in music history.
I'd probably feel different if my introduction to the band had been 'Back In Black'
Who knows.

Like Led Zep these guys were disdained in their time as simpletons trying to attract the masses. Yeah they were, both of them. What I love is that the masses of critics have chosen in retrospect to love them. As they should. You can deny great music at first as "just rock," but in the long run if it was great rock it will last.
Gave it a nine, never tire of this song
So, yah, I could never hear this goddamn song again and die very happy!

Circumcised...never understood that...now i see
Now this is rock !!!
Three and a half minute slam dance....
To quote Frank, "Strictly commercial." Don't need it here.
The very definition of Rock and Roll!
Never been much of an AC/DC fan but I have to say this is a shit-kickingly good song!
One of the few rock bands who through decades of success never changed their style. Not even remotely.
Most of the Brian Johnson albums failed to sell impressively (for a band of this stature), but their biggest-selling album is their first with Johnson, and it's one of the biggest-selling albums of all time by anyone. Most of the Bon Scott era albums have sold healthily just about every year since 1980.
Malcolm Young - rock 'n' roll genius.
Angus Young - mad, manic virtuoso. Not as technically gifted as the very best, but he's pretty darned outstanding, and knows his way around a blues scale as good as any.
The unsung hero of the band - Phil Rudd. Massively under-rated drummer if you ask me. He's no Neil Peart with how many drums he hits per song, but he plays with just the right feel for AC/DC. He's not a rock drummer, he's a rock 'n' roll drummer. He can swing and boogie as well as bang and bash.

Proves lack of talent is no bar to rock and roll stardom

"She had the sightless eyes" - that would explain why she did it with Brian.
Kinda the seventh or eighth best track on the album though. Oh well.

No song screams Rock n Roll for me more than this one. Quintessential man!
Still some of the best opening lyrics for a RnR song.
Yeah baby!
Yeah baby!
Every country bar in Wichita Kansas played this song to satisfy us rock n' roll fans. It was the consolation prize. (if you were lucky they'd throw in a Kiss song, too)
....this number always reminds me that alcoholic stupor puke drowning death IS A THING!

Had me doing the air guitar in the office. Much to the 'amusement' of my boss. But I don't care. When I hear ACDC, my corporate maturity goes out the window.
Overplayed, but a classic. Shows what a great groove band these guys could be.
This is a ROCKING 10 for me....cuz I immediately cranked the volume "knob" up to 11....Rock On!! And the entire album kicks ass, one of my all-time favorites in the Rock & Roll genre - Long Live RP!!
Why the 80s Sucked Musically: Exhibit A.
(no make that Exhibit B; Duran Duran claims 'A')
(no make that Exhibit B; Duran Duran claims 'A')
During High School, I hated AC/DC. I thought it was too simple. I was all about The Who, with a healthy dose of Led Zep thrown in.
Now that I'm older, I've come to appreciate AC/DC, and enjoy it.

This song is sort of like a Twinkie. You don't want to eat one very often, but when you do it IS good!

I agree with you about the Bon Scott era.
Phil Rudd is like Ringo —- sounds easy until you try to get it to sound like that. There are people who will tell you that he's the best rock drummer playing. For sure AC/DC was never the same without him.
I've always loved AC/DC
I prefer the Bon Scott era though.
Anyone else think that being the drummer for AC/DC must be a really boring job?

ROFL. Can I have a hit of your stuff?
a baton Rouge radio dj got a call from a guy asking for Rod Stewart singing Shook Me....he told the poor fellow he was way off and played this...this is a fine tune, but the guy who called was right...in the early stages of The New Yardbirds, Page got Rod Stewart to sing on some demo and that version of what became the Zep tune Shook Me was one of those on it, and a radioshow called Flashback played it on a N.O. station (I think Westwood One actually did the show)and the kid had heard it there most likely.
That said.. Rock On
I cranked it up automatically for this one, as one should! Yay! Thunder from Down Under!

One cannot doubt their commitment to the concept. When they sing "You shook me all night long", I cannot help but believe it.
Sorry, but as a Wedding Photographer, I have heard this too many times. I could do without it for obvious reasons.
i often think if i was a teenager in the 80's, i would be into AC/DC ... i'll pay homage ... but luckily my time fell between this and the mess (most) music's in right now

I can't argue with the fact that the world, including RP, could use more Bon Scott.
Far from their best, but not bad.
