If you ever get close to a human
And human behaviour
Be ready, be ready to get confused
And me and my here after

There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic
To human behaviour
But yet so, yet so irresistible
And me and my fear can
And there's no map
and a compass
wouldn't help at all

They're terribly moody
And human behaviour
Then all of a sudden turn happy
And they and my here after
But, oh, to get involved in the exchange
Of human emotions
Is ever so, ever so satisfying

Oh oh, and there's no map and chair too

Human behaviour, human
Human, human behaviour, human
Human, human behaviour, human
Human behaviour, human

And there's no map
And a compass
Wouldn't help at all

Human behaviour, human, human
Human behaviour, human,
Human behaviour, human,
Human behaviour

There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic

Human, human
Human behaviour
Human

There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic

Human, human, human, human.

Lots of minor key songs have a chord progression that includes the minor 2nd becoming the root of a major chord.

I always thought there was something melodically strange in this song, thanks for explanation! I appreciate the song even more now.
She is a little peach, simple as that.

If you undestand it, it is not God -

the corollary, I think, is that just because we cannot understand it doesn't mean it's bullshit. Thousands of years and billions of humans have believed in something ... that's a lot of history to brush away as bullshit

Christianity is quite different than other religions. The book, “Dinner with a Perfect Stranger” illustrates this well.  If one follows the teachings in the Bible, their life will become enriched. People have used religion selfishly for their own gain. We will all experience truth one day.  Peace. ✌️🕊️

Nothing worse than a COV ID denying, antivax, anti mask, Trump sheep. Get a grip paranoid one.
Good Grief, I've just read this thread as far down as I could bear. I'm not getting involved in your beliefs, would respectfully request you stay out of mine.  We share this rock for the span of our existence, is tearing each other apart for a belief really as important as it gets?   Except if you're going to disrespect Bjork - not having that, it's my hill, not prepared to die on it though

Who cares what you or I think of religion? Other people's beliefs are really none of our business and I've got it very hard to understand why it bothers you so much. Live and let live! That means: Get a life!

Why? Seems to me to be an accurate observation. More depressing would be the realization that while illogical, human behavior is quite predictable. Some people become extremely powerful realizing that. That's what I don't like to think about, but I still have to, it's reality. But I'm not an ostrich, you shouldn't be either.

I saw her open for U2 back in 1992 in Vancouver. This song was so intense... the drums and bass combined with her voice just resonated in a truly memorable performance. Been a fan ever since.
Who remembers the video with the giant Teddy Bear walking around wreaking havoc? Ha ha, love Bjork.

Merry Christmas everyone!
Great set this morning - in Germany it's 11am - dark, freaky, awesome.

Thank's Bill&Rebecca. Long lives RP!
Two individuals I've witnessed with every single person in a huge crowd focussed on them and them alone: Ozzy Osbourne and Bjork.

Oh my God, this song is so underrated.  Get with it.  This is a piece of genius that will resurface 50 years from now when the reassessment of what still matters comes along.  I'll be dead, but I'm willing to bet.

Jahgirl8,
Dingleberry was quoting Bjork from an interview she did in Pickfork in 2007, her response to the Indonesian tsunami in 2006.  Please don't kill the messenger.  You can google the interview by " Bjork pitchfork human race".  Things out of context can always cause misunderstanding.  It would have perhaps been helpful if he identified Bjork as the speaker.

When I hear this masterpiece, I seem to want to paint my face and dance in a very primal fashion...

Some of her stuff comes across as just plain weird for weirdness sake (which can be fine), and then there's pieces like this that just kick ass. I've used this in DJ sets for years of dance events and folks always go crazy on the dance floor. LOVE it.

Religion is just a way to say you must to do so or you don't must to do so... anyway the paradise and the hell are only a favor or a punition... we just should go away this psychology that just say do it for the favor or don't do that or you'll be punished... i think the world is a school anyway, but we don't need this kind of education that says i don't love you anymore because you did that... just let everybody learn to his own rythm, and personnaly i prefer the people who learn from their mistakes than people who just learn to go straight to the "paradise". To do a "mistake" is just a way to make his own choices, against a general way of life which seems to have more and more constraints every day that the old god do.

Is Iceland in Scandinavi?

Most people would say "no". Scandinavia consists of Norway, Sweden & Denmark. Iceland has a language and heritage closely connected to the Norse, but is generally included in the more broad description of the "Nordic countries" rather than Scandinavia.

When Pliny the Elder first described the Scandinavian region, Iceland had not yet been discovered.
The two frontpeople I've seen completely command a huge festival crowd, everyone focussed on one point:- Bjork and Ozzy. Very similar artists, heh.

(There is a little logic actually, Bjorkypoos.)
Really good transition with "there there" before !

This might be the one Bjork song that I actually like.
This album is where an Irish singer (SO) can be referenced as  being influential, many years later.
Can't believe that in 13 years I haven't rated this one until now. 10.
needs more Sugar(Cubes)
One thing I found really interesting about this song is the "unplugged version" she performed on MTV. How do you unplug a song that is already unplugged? Well, worth hearing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5QqhpMe_6E

What do you mean by "Latin friends"; people who speak Latin or Latin-American people?  Either way, it doesn't seem probable that either group would readily use an English-language term such as "human warmth".

I went and bought this album once this track from the movie "The Young Americans" had been added to the track list. A couple of years later I saw her live in the roman ruins of Caesaria in Israel. No idea what she is banging on about, but this track maintains its bizarre sonic allure to this day. Thrilling.

Thanks, you are right of course.

I'm one of those people that has never got Bjork. I can understand her singing like a silly wee lassie when she first started, but she's still doing it. Loved Hellsongs's version of Paranoid, so I can appreciate gentle feminine music, but Bjork......why?
Like a lot of commentators on some of the more 'hippy' songs from the 60s and 70s like to remind us "you had to be there to really get it". Now Bjork  is not my cup of tea but this was SO different to what was out there at the time.
