Where there's a music shall be comin' out of every car
There is a silence all over downtown
Where community celebrates shall be aroused
I walk the sterile gardens where life is on pause

No can do this!
No can do that!
What da hell can you do, my friend?
In this place that you call your town

I guess you can't expect much from the hometown
Well I don't know if you can even call it your own
When they don't want you to get near excitement
And in protest to that you just stay home
No can do this!
No can do that!

On intersection of all dimensions
where I was stoppin' by just for a drink
I meet a brother from tribal connection
of our fun loving restless breed
I wanna walk this Earth like it is mine
And so is everyone in our funlovin' tribe
C'mon, is that real so much to ask
from all these goddamn nazi-fuedals
I'm gonna take it to community
Cause I want everyone to see
There never was any conspiracy
And we are all here simple to sing:
No can do this! No can do that!

Where the's music should be comin' out of every car
There is a silence all over downtown
Only intersection semi-alive
Outskirts are sedated, me gone...

Song growing ever closer to National Anthem [not just American].

Sounded like a muppets character too! I would probably go see these guys live if they came around...

Such a nice town you have here...for me to poop on!
I recommend the movies:  Pied Piper of Hutzovina and A Scream of My Blood.
Saw them live in Amsterdam, years ago. What a party that was.

Yep, sounds like Triumph the Comic Dog.
Brought to you by Fans of Weird Al.
Funny how the Nazi's are the opposite of the "funlovin' tribe." Ain't that the truth!
I always think this is Sasha Baron Cohen when it comes on even though I know better.
What an amazingly energetic band. Just love that Balkan music genre. Oddly enough this reminds me so much of the song O.K. by Vasilis Papakonstantinou from his album "Xamenes Agapes" (Lost Loves). No idea why.
Apropos given the anniversary of Putin's invasion of Ukraine.  Slava Ukraini!
Reminds me of this gopnik classic...
Triumph the Insult Comic Dog sure can carry a tune.

Hoot indeed.  For a sample of their live energy, check out their Tiny Desk Concerts appearance (2010).  Good stuff.
sounds bad (rated it 1 at first) but is actually good with great lyrics - ended up with a 7.

LOL I can't unhear that...
Love the Gogol boys and girls.
Makes me think of my late husband, sounds so much like him
I love this band. My daughter turned me onto them. They are American, but their music has strong Romani and punk influences. It is both humorous and subversive.

The band is fairly topical right now with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Their name, Gogol Bordello, is based on the Ukrainian writer, Nikolai Gogol. The band's aim is to smuggle Romani culture into the English-speaking world, just as Gogol smuggled Ukrainian culture into Russia. It would seem that Gogol's project was only partly successful!
Ukraine !!!!!!!!!!!!!

You Don't Mess With the Zohan, or my "Fizzy Bubbly"!

Thank you for playing Gogol Bordello from Ukraine!
refreshingly different
What . . . what IS this?

And The Count...ah ah ah...
Its a song about the French right?
Oh wow! This is the guy who starred with Elijah Wood in "Everything is Illuminated" about the Nazi purges in Ukraine but took place in present day. This lady who lived in the middle of a sunflower field kept pictures and belonging of the whole town in boxes in her living room in case someone ever came asking what happened to them. It took sixty years. Very moving film. I didn't know he was in a band.
Music for consuming excessive quantities of alcohol.

Thought this was Modest Mouse first ;)
Fun!!
always PSD this tripe
When is Borat going to join this group...and then play a concert in Nur-Sultan
This is some good shit.
Delightfully wacky
Okay - out at the BBQ and walk back into the kitchen to hear this on the dedicated RP computer (it's a thing).  Thinking what the hell is this?  A Muppets Supergroup?  Clearly need to download this.
I want everyone to see,

I actually hear Triumph.
A song for our lockdown times ;-\

No can do this, no can do that, what the hell can you do :(

Musically this gets a 3 from me. Average that with a 15 for fun factor, and it comes to a 9. Dance, varmint, dance!
Most suitable song for quarantine time, LMAO.
OK this song is growing on me like a fungus so I raised it up 1 rating notch. {#Eek}

{#Roflol}
Rolf the Dog - SO TRUE!!
When the lead is speaking, all I hear is Rolf the Dog from the muppets talking.

 Saw them last year in New Haven CT.  Hoot is an understatement for their live performance.  The place was shakin'  - loved it.

Red Elvises sound-alike!

He was in a movie based on a Foer novel, with Bilbo Baggins.
Fun song, but definitely a OHW.

Actually, all of the group singing has a muppet quality to it.
Anyone else reminded of Zappa?

I'll agree with the h8rhater on this....this AMERICAN says 8+1 - this shit is fun and enjoyable....Long Live RP!!
Always fun.  Love them.

Whoah there Chaos.... let's not be generalizing.  This American likes Gogol Bordello just fine as do many of my friends who, surprise, also are American.  Please do not classify all of us based on the poor comments of 'Mercan h8rs on these boards.
Well I have to give 'em credit for making me hang in there and listen to the end, and chuckle a couple of times along the way. You just have to be in the mood for weird and different, I guess.
Saw these guys live last summer at Riverfest up here in Elora Ontario.  To say it was pure craziness would be the understatement of the year.  Find out where they're next playing and see them live...  Highly recommended!
{#High-five} Play some Joe Walsh instead.
It's not been long enough since I last heard this.
No shame in liking this band.
That's funny but weird. No repeated listens, thanks, but it sure hits the spot for the first few. This is could be the KGB's revenge.
I give it a nine instead of a 10 because Gogol Bordello's never really been my thing. I give it a nine because I love hearing some random shit now and then, something different.
Great band to see live.  I like the song; however,  a little softer than other material I'm familiar with.
Yep.
Joe Strummer channeling Oscar the Grouch/ Cookie Monster.
Wait. Google has a bordello? Now those are employee benefits!
Love Gogol Bordello! Thnaks... "have you every been to american wedding?" {#Cheesygrin}
djd49 said it right. ++
MORE BORDELLO PLEASE!!!{#Bananasplit}
Best song I've never heard before. I love gypsy/Klezmer type music with a sense of humor.
I'm with you Bill, it was quirky but I liked it!

Gogol Bordello reminds me a lot of Igor and Red Elvises.  Another great, fun band and always fun live.  Check them out if they play near you!

You will not be dissapointed if you'll see themlive: they are very energetic and surprisingly good in a musical way!

THere's a local band that's amazingly similar called Debauche.  This stuff speaks to me too.  Never had so much fun ranting angrily

Listening to this hurts my face...
My favorite song of theirs is "Uma Menina", with the lyric:

"And so you say (you say!)
You wanna try (yeah try!)
When you see (you see!)
Birdies heading high
As if them birds are free
As if them birds are free
From the sidewalks of the sky"

I can't help getting swept up in their crazy sound (maybe they're stirring up my Slavic roots)
Gotta admit. I'm sitting here trying to come up with a reason for why I shouldn't be digging this... no luck so far
If you ever get a chance, see Gogol Bordello in concert! SO MUCH FUN... (bring earplugs, though.)
where are you now?
LOL - never heard this before. Don't think I could hear it a lot of times in a row, but once off it is fun to hear. Can't rate it yet, but maybe next time (in a few months or longer, I hope).

Not that good.

How does a band like this even get a record contract when there are so many good unrecorded bands out there?  I'm being generous with a "2".
Funtastics...{#Bananajam}
I was thinking the same thing

I guess you need to see them live to appreciate them.......

It's criminal that these guys weren't invited to do a cover for The Green Album.

Couldn't agree more.  But I'm loving this one.
Why?
Brilliant transition from !Deladap.   I was just thinking that song reminded me of Gogol Bordello a bit, and here it is!
Sounds like a Muppet Show number

I saw them live twice. Once opening for Primus at Red Rocks and once around Halloween at the Boulder Theater. The difference in the shows is night and day. At Red Rocks they simply sucked. At the smaller venue though they totally kicked ass. Tons more energy, tons more interaction with the fans, etc. I don't know where you saw them in Oakland but I can say they put on a great show in a smaller venue.

9 bordering on a 10 rating...just love their sound!

Thank you.  I was beginning to think I was the only one who had ever listened to 3 Mustaphas 3.  I was beginning to wonder if I had only imagined it.
I like it, but it sounds like Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster.....{#Guitarist}
