They won't know who we are
So we both can pretend
It's written on the mountains
A line that never ends
As the devil spoke we spilled out on the floor
And the pieces broke and the people wanted more
And the rugged wheel is turning another round
Dorian, carry on
Will you come along to the end
Will you ever let us carry on
Swaying like the children
Singled out for praise
The inside out on the open
With the straightest face
As the sad-eyed woman spoke we missed our chance,
The final dying joke caught in our hands
And the rugged wheel is turning another round
Dorian, carry on
Will you come along to the end
Will you ever let us carry on
Dorian, carry on
Will you come along to the end
Will you ever let us carry on
Dorian, will you follow us down
So we both can pretend
It's written on the mountains
A line that never ends
As the devil spoke we spilled out on the floor
And the pieces broke and the people wanted more
And the rugged wheel is turning another round
Dorian, carry on
Will you come along to the end

Would not have known of her if not for RP - one of the finds I'm most grateful for - thx RP! Agree clear "8+"
Really like everything I've heard from her.

I see what you did there, William ... You jumped The Sound from Sweden to Denmark!
She has some interesting melodies and chord progressions. I noticed that a few of them are in Dorian or Phrygian mode, which is cool. This one is named "Dorian" but appears to not be in Dorian mode?
This song has been slowly growing on me for the past 2 weeks. Giving it a solid 10.

The production on this song is a great speaker test, there's enough echo to her voice to really create space but the piano and cello maintain an intimacy that is heart breaking.
Lovely.
Lovely.

Pretty sure it stays on 4/4 all the way, but they're enjoying a play with the phrasing...
Is it just me or is there something weird going on with the meter during the chorus? I could swear it's switching to 5/4 or 7/4.

Thanks Bill and Rebecca!
I woke up out of sorts this morning. But "Om" by Moody Blues, followed by Agnes Obel has altered my mood significantly. The power of music to soothe my angst is unquestionable, but it is the skillful combinations that you put together that makes the magic work!

I think it is in Dorian mode (Rick Beato has a very good video on Dorian mode), but happy to be corrected.
