I took a page out of your favorite book
You sold me lies just by the way you look
Taught me a language that I've never speak
Baby, that ain't for me, that, that ain't for me
I dug my grave watchin' the way you move
You took me higher than I ever flew, ooh
Too many times, gave you a second chance
Baby, I'm just a man, I'm, I'm just a man

No more thinkin' about you late night
No more runnin' around with your friends now
Done pickin' up pieces of my soul up off the floor, oh, oh

I said I would die for you, baby
But I can't take this pain no more
I thought I was willin'
But tonight I saved my life when I showed you the door
I don't wanna lose you, baby
But I can't play this game no more
I thought it would kill me
But tonight I saved my life when I showed you the door

You never thought this day would ever come
But I looked you in the eyes and pulled the rug
You tried to take away my sanity
Baby, that ain't for me, that, that ain't for me

Oh, no more thinkin' about you late night
No more runnin' around with your friends now
Done pickin' up pieces of my soul up off the floor, oh, oh

I said I would die for you, baby
But I can't take this pain no more
I thought I was willin'
But tonight I saved my life when I showed you the door
I don't wanna lose you, baby
But I can't play this game no more
I thought it would kill me
But tonight I saved my life when I showed you the door

When I showed you the door
When I showed you the door
But tonight I saved my life

I said I would die for you, baby
But I can't take this pain no more
I thought I was willin'
But tonight I saved my life when I showed you the door
I don't wanna lose you, baby (I don't wanna lose you, baby)
But I can't play this game no more (No more)
I thought it would kill me (I thought it would kill me)
But tonight I saved my life when I showed you the door

Mm-hmm
Oh, oh, oh

Careful, Bill and Alana.  You're turning me into a fan of country music, although with music crossing genres, it's getting harder and harder to pigeonhole songs into any one category - a very good thing in my humble opinion.
I'm 63 and when bored sometimes I will get on YouTube and watch shorts. I watched this one where this guy is playing piano at some shop in France, Emilio piano his site, and this woman asks if he could play Lose Control. So he starts playing and in walks Teddy Swims and says hey... That's my song and starts belting it out! I was blown away! I never heard of the dude! Staged, I am sure it was but he is awesome! So I thank you Bill and your awesome staff for adding Mr. Swims into the mix.
I'm 78, imbued with the amazing music I grew up with from my mid-50s adolescence listening to far-flung late night US radio stations on a rocket crystal radio earplug under the covers when my parents expected me to be asleep, to the the eclecticism I've grown to really love here at RP.

To the point: this is happy in my ears, has a 'Gnarls Barkley - Crazy' flavour,,,
Maybe the song of summer 2024

Damn! I guess the grandparent contingent is sounding unanimous. Grandaddy of one votes "hell, yes" on Teddy Swims . . love that tune!
This song is fabulous.  Love it!

Perhaps they just don't like it, regardless of their ages- but do I - a grandma 4 times over, who has this track at an 8 have your permission to stay here and keep listening to RP please

Already over-played and wearing out.

Occam's razor is slicing and dicing someone here.

hmm, nice...
Love it!  Added to my Playlist!   Thanks.
Been said 1000 times now, but it is awesome to find new music here! Really digging the sort of soul disco vibe... And the album title is legendary
It's nice to hear that some modern pop music isn't just copy and paste crap. Good on ya, Teddy. 7 from me for now.
This song is a vibe
Enjoying how in both the album cover and his wikipedia my man is in a state of repose on various furniture... comfort goals
But tonight I saved my life when I showed you the door...

There's some people voting this song as a 1-3, and I think it's because they cannot fathom RP ever having **gasp** NEW music added to the rotation.

Thank you, Alanna!

Comes in at 7 for me, he looks like a detention desk but great tune on first listen

Nice voice, not bad lyrics. I gave it an 8. It gets my attention while I'm working, so eventually it may move to a 9.

Another song from Part 1 that I enjoy quite a bit.

Thought about wishing for Teddy to get therapy,
but that may prevent him from releasing a Part 2.
Keep it up RP! This is fantastic, like always.
