If you like Billy, consider listening to New Grass Revival from late 1970s and early 1980s. They were smoking hot with Sam Bush on mandolin and Bela Fleck on banjo. 

Saw them a couple times live at blue grass show in KY. Back when Sam was known for tooting up before shows and old Bill Monroe found out and chewed his ass out.

Absolutely agree with this. I've been astounded at William's refusal to add BMFS to the playlist over the years. This is right in RP's wheelhouse in my opinion.
