I first heard this on RP just before Christmas. I bought the album as an early Christmas present to myself on the strength of just one listen to this track. What a rewarding purchase - one of those rare albums without a bad track and which gets better with each play. Been binge listeneing ever since.

There is a lot of distortion in the vocal at peak. Fingernails on a blackboard. Very unfortunate because the rest of the piece is lovely.

В своем дебютном трио певица и скрипачка Алиса Завадски, пианист Фред Томас (который также играет на исторической скрипке и ударных) и басист Миша Муллов-Аббадо представляют редкую алхимию, которая объединяет фолк-идиомы самого разного происхождения со свободным взаимодействием и гибкими структурами.

My first time comment - I’ve never done this before because I rarely find that I like tracks on first listen which then grow on me over time, but this one is just such a haunting melody that I don’t feel that inhibition. What a lovely piece.
