There's a replacement site, if anyone would like to set up a league for us. I haven't explored it, so I have no knowledge of the options.

The final standings of our final season are now in... and we have a new winner. (popcorn-drum-roll) ... It's ME! Never in first place until now, my studio vaulted from behind into victory on this last week of the season. Being the only mogul who selected both Twilight and Changeling appears to have been the primary difference makers for Inertia Productions to finish on top of the final RP Fantasy Movie Mogul League to grab a very close victory. SEASON TO DATE STANDINGS As the previous post below indicates, they are closing up shop on this unique offering ... so unless it arises again in the future, either through Fantasy Moguls revisiting their decision or because someone else starts one up elsewhere, this will be our final season. Congratulations to previous season winners...- Spring - Newwavegurly
- Summer - CptBuz
- Fall - Alt-Ctrl-Tom
... and thanks to all who played! Hopefully you all enjoyed it

one weekend left to go in this season, and it looks like we may have a new champeen, although the standings could change in the final week, based in the relative strength of the slates. SEASON TO DATE STANDINGS Edieraye remains in first with a potentially insurmountable lead, while positions 2-5 have tightened up - Mzpro, me, Cptbuz, and Water all grouped within the same 3 point spread. Zipper, NewWaveGirly and Lily34 in the remaining 3 positions and battling for pride if not victory. The upcoming Thanksgiving weekend will make the final difference ... who'll eat the turkey in style and who will be feeding on scraps? We'll see...

I switched my slate to include Twilight instead of Bolt at the last minute ... sweet! Watch out at the top Edieraye! Our season ain't over yet. 'Twilight' DeliversTwilight was able to gross a staggering $35.7 million on Friday according to official studio estimates. It comes as no surprise that the teenage vampire flick would start off so well considering that it has been posting extremely solid online ticket sales. Twilight is now on pace to gross more than $70 million during its opening frame. According to estimates, Disney's Bolt opened with a relatively weak $7.2 million and it should end up with around $25-28 million this weekend, which is way below projections. Last weekend's champ, Quantum of Solace, grossed $8.6 million according to estimates and it will easily cross the $100 million mark this weekend. Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 Estimates | Daily | Total | 1 | Twilight | $35,700,000
| $35,700,000 | 2 | Quantum of Solace | $8,600,000 | $91,082,841 | 3 | Bolt | $7,200,000 | $7,200,000 | 4 | Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa | $4,100,000 | $125,547,454 | 5 | Role Models | $2,200,000 | $41,008,875 | 6 | High School Musical 3: Senior Year
| $900,000 | $85,714,938 | 7 | Changeling | $850,000 | $29,819,882 | 8 | Zack and Miri Make a Porno | $650,000 | $28,300,450 | 9 | The Secret Life of Bees | $450,000 | $34,823,804 | 10
| Soul Men | $400,000 | $10,388,240 |

FINAL PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF NOVEMBER 21-23 1. NEW Twilight (Sony) — $64.3 million 2. NEW Bolt (Disney) — $40.2 million 3. Quantum of Solace (Sony) — $29.77 million 4. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (DreamWorks/Paramount) — $18.6 million 5. Role Models (Universal) — $5.54 million 6. High School Musical 3: Senior Year (Disney) — $3.23 million 7. Changeling (Universal) — $2.61 million 8. Zack and Miri Make a Porno (Weinstein) — $1.69 million 9. The Secret Life of Bees (Fox Searchlight) — $1.33 million 10. Soul Men (MGM) — $1.23 million
A housewife in suburban Phoenix is responsible for the movie that will dominate America's multiplexes this weekend. Twilight (Summit) is a phenomenon in industry tracking and advance sales, and two separate competing studio sources are telling me that they expect the film adaptation of Bella and Edward's forbidden romance to top $60 million in its opening three days. (...) Industry tracking indicates that Females Under 25 will make up the core audience for Twilight, but Females 25 Plus, including moms, have "Definite Interest" in seeing it. It's not entirely surprising, considering that there is even a website called TwilightMoms.com. Interestingly, although there aren'Twilight as their "First Choice" in tracking data, an industry insider tells me that the "Definitely Not Interested" score with young males isn't through the roof. If Twilight is not especially objectionable to teenage guys, then they are more likely to be dragged to see it by girlfriends and dates this weekend. (...) The other major wide release this weekend is Bolt, from Walt Disney Animation Studios, which will have as many as 800 engagements in Disney Digital 3D. This is a very smart property in a lot of ways, and the reviews are coming in decidedly positive (89 percent Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes as of Wednesday night). The executive producer of this movie is John Lasseter the writer/director of Pixar hits like Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life and Cars. (...) Quantum of Solace (Sony) will be No. 3 for the weekend, down a possible 56 perent or so from opening weekend for something right around $30 million. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (Dreamworks/Paramount) may dip 47 percent for about $18.6 million in its third weekend. And Universal's Role Models, from writer/director David Wain, will likely round out the Top 5 with about $5.5 million.

But a quick look at the list of remaining films didn't reveal any sure winners. Or at least none that would do better than Bond in those two categories. And I was busy packing for my trip to MA (which I will write about later today - with pictures!) so didn't have time to research. I don't have the top spot locked up at all - it really will come down to the wire. But at least I'll finish better than last time! Of course, there was no place to go but up... right you are - you most definitely won't be last I'm trying to decide on switching my last movie from Bolt to Twilight. Both should do well, but which will do better? With the top positions in the league so close, it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

SEASON TO DATE STANDINGS As expected, Quantum of Silence is a blockbuster, and our league results are shaken (and stirred) as a result of its release. Edieraye moves into first, having completely locked up the Box Office Dollars and Top 5 categories. CptBuz and Mzpro are tied for second, with Water close behind in fourth. I'm not far behind in fifth, with Lily, Zipper, and Newwavegurly lagging the field. There are two weeks left in this season - with only 3 studios adding a movie to their slates, and the final standings being decided by that addition and the performance of all studios slates over those two weeks. Exciting!
