Could it be the recent iTunes upgrade?
I haven't noticed. It's always sounded superior to me. Some of this stuff I've been listening since I was 4. I'm 56 now. Granted, maybe the Chuck Berry/ Jerry Lee Lewis/ early Elvis that far back.  I noticed some great "never played" stuff finally getting the big dust off though.
