Hi all,

I've been having this problem since Android 8.0 was updated on my Huawei Mate9 phone. Jared from Cratersoft suggested it might be a 3rd party cleaner app. As I don't have any installed it turns out that the system's automatic cleanup function treats large blocks of cached data very aggressively.

I was able to disable the auto-clean function in a submenu of the storage settings and seems to have done the job.

Hope that can help anyone with similar issues.

Wow. That's weird. Obviously that's plenty of space.

Rebecca & I both have S7 phones & the only time recently that we've lost anything was during the update to Android 8.0 that rolled out recently. That wiped our caches.

Yes it has me stumped also. Idea..could my Norton for android see this data as "unused" and be automatically deleting it?

That's probably it. Try disabling it.

30 GB on my so card. I save 4.5 hrs at 320 bps

Still happening for me.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app.  I got one block to download and now I've been getting the message for over an hour.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
