The iPhone app is very nice, but I liked being able to pick up the streams through Safari because I could then listen to Radio Paradise while doing other thing with my phone. But it looks like those streams aren't available anymore because when I navigate to RP through the iPhone's browser, all I see is the playlist. Am I being stupid or did the links to the streams get taken down in an effort to push people to the app? I will continue to use the RP app, but won't be able to enjoy listening to the great music and dulcet tones of Bill as much as I would like.

I love the app for iTouch - it works great! I get the 128 stream no prob. I just wish I could get it in the truck while traveling.

Lovin' the app ... works absolutely fine. I had FlyCast, but mostly for listening to RP and I much prefer the dedicated RP app as it connects faster and seems to hold the stream better. A big thanks to the guys at stormyproductions.
In other news ... just discovered another app last night that I'm diggin on called "Concert Vault" ... connects to this site: http//concerts.wolfgangvault.com . Some good ole concerts on there. (Disclaimer: this is not a spam post, just thought some others might be into concert streams when, occasionally, not listening to RP). Anyone heard of this or have any other recommends?

Anyone have any luck getting the AAC stream to work on iPhone? I love having RP in my car but the lower bit 32k mp3 stream that I have to use occasionally on the edge network, sounds terrible. It appears that Safari / Quicktime doesn't support playing the AAC+ stream directly like it does with MP3 streams. The good news, however, is the Radio Paradise iPhone app supports playing the AAC+ stream if you have the 2.2 iPhone OS update installed.

Glad to hear you like the app, though. Cheers.

Another plus for folks on the move with intermittent signal is that it buffers a couple of minutes of music so your stream is rarely interrupted (like it would if you used safari with the RP stream).

It looks like the only way around that restriction is for us to come up with a full-on RP native application for the phone. Naturally, we can't afford to pay someone to do that (nor am I in the mood to spend the time needed to learn how to do it myself). We're in preliminary discussions with someone who might be able to come up with something — and if anyone else is interested, please shoot me an email. Bill, any updates on either of the items above? (particularly the one about a native RP app) :) The native app is finished & approved by Apple. I sent it back for one small revision. Should be available soon (like this week sometime)

Stupid question, Ern - how do you create a shortcut to the RP stream? The only way I see to create a shortcut is to click on the "+" at the bottom of the Safari screen when you are on a web page. Problem is that as soon as you load the URL you mention it loads the quicktime app, so I don't see a way to create a bookmark to that URL. I'm sure I'm missing something stupid, but I don't see any other way to create a bookmark.

I created a shortcut to the 3G iPhone stream at http://stream-ny.radioparadise.com:9000/ on my iPhone home screen so that I don't have to navigate to the RP page via Safari each time, zoom in, and click the listen link. Unfortunately, the iPhone doesn't let you add a custom icon to shortcuts that you create, so all I have is a blank white icon that says "RP". I googled around and found out that it is possible for a website to show its custom icon on the iPhone home screen by simply adding a "link" tag to its HTML like this: link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="/whatever.jpg"/ It's really simple, and instructions are here: (click here) Bill, I was wondering if you could add this to the RP iPhone page? Perhaps you could also create a simple page that automatically starts streaming, and uses the RP icon? To save you the trouble of creating a 57x57 pixel icon for RP, I took the liberty of making one myself - see my avatar. Thanks!

I posted the following in Howard Forums this morning (the italicized part was my earlier post there):
————————————————————— Motorola T505
(click here) We'll see how it works — my goal is to be able to listen to things like internet radio, my HTPC's music, or XM in the car. Being able to answer calls sans a headset will be nice, too.
...I just had one of those rare (for a geek like me) "living in the future" moments. I drove to work while I listening to my favorite internet radio station on my car's sterero via the LG Dare and the T505.
First, re: the bluetooth part, the two paired up perfectly, and both the phone and music controls work perfectly. For music on the Dare itself, all I have to do is press play on the T505, and it automatically starts playing everything on the phone in shuffle mode. Nice. Alternatively, you can pick something specific on your phone and play that instead.
Re: the FM connection, press the connect button and it audibly tells you which frequency to tune your radio to. If the signal strength changes during your drive (it didn't on my short commute), you press it again and it'll search for another, clearer freq. There was only a little static, which I'm sure I could improve by placing the transmitter closer to my car's antenna (located in the back window) since I plan on mainly using it for music, not for calls.
About calls, though, that too worked well. I called my fiancee and she said I sounded very clear. She sounded great too, of course, coming through six speakers. :)
Overall, I'm really happy with it. —————————————————————
Bill, are there any plans for a higher bitrate version of the mobile stream? I think most folks' phones could handle 64k or 128k streams, too.
Oh and Servo, while I agree with you, I'll take the convenience of being wireless over higher fidelity at this point. Plus, the acoustic environment of a car doesn't lend itself to very high quality music anyway. (I still wouldn't mind a higher bitrate stream though, like I said. ).
