There may be something to what you say.  It was, after all, the soup du jour to at least confuse people.

Anyway, after seeing some more of Billy Squier's videos, well, let's just say my memory has not done well by me.  In other words, I no longer wish to be buying his Greatest Hits cd.

That is all.

I wasn't interested in buying his records when they came out - I was listening to very different stuff then, though several females I knew back then were interested in him.  That video (to me) is an obvious move on his part to try to lure in those MTV viewers who were gushing over Flock of Seagulls and that ilk.  I imagine his agent telling him:  "Look, the kids aren't interested in your 'hard rock' stuff right anymore - there are too many hair-bands from LA trying that.  You need to be a cross-over between the hair bands and the hair-dresser bands."

To be fair, I kinda like some of his stuff if I'm in that big, goofy arena rocksong kinda mood.

OK, that just brightened a boring airport wait.  And seriously; do you think he just wants to die of embarrassment when he sees this video now?  Or is he too busy counting the compound annual returns on the gajillion dollars he made on this 1986?

There was Studio 54 and a lot of cocaine going on. It was very hip to look androgynous. And Bowie and Mick were getting it on.
