Mine meant that 41 others took the same path of words (41 out of 1.7 million or so). Typical sample on the regular mode is ~1.7 million, looks like hard mode is ~200K. about 12% of players are playing hard mode. We normally use the hard mode rules, but I leave myself the out in case I get to guess 4 and there are 37 options left. I do the hard mode rules because they typically make more sense not because 'hard mode'. We are almost always trying to get the word, so if we have a letter in place we will almost always use it.

Ah, that makes more sense.
