Falling, falling
Gonna drop like a stone
I'm falling through the atmosphere
On a warm afternoon
If lovers discover
That everyone dies
So don't tell me, please hold me
It's a dangerous life

Daddy, dear, let's get outta here
I'm scared
Ten o'clock, nighttime in New York
It's weird

If you're looking for trouble
Well, that's what you will find

Mom and Pop, they will fuck you up
For sure
Love so deep, kills you in your sleep
It's true

Love keeps us together
And love will keep us alive

And we are criminals that never broke no laws
And all we needed was a net to break our fall

Ha, they're searching for diamonds
They're grabbing at straws
Sex and sin, sax and violins
It's hell
Wooden heads, furniture with legs
For sale

Love keeps us together
And love will drive us insane

And we are criminals that never broke no laws
And all we needed was a net to break our fall

Going home, back where I belong
To stay
The rays of light, they will turn the night
To day

Birds travel together
Birds follow the sun
And I am watching as the birds go flying home

Thanks, RP! Hearing this takes me back to driving through the mountains and along the coast of Noto Hanto playing Sand in the Vaseline during the 8 years I lived in Ishikawa. The surreal spookiness they conjured here went so perfectly with the mind-blowing scenery!
I'm not a huge TH fan but have always liked most of their songs.  Never heard this one before, but I like it just for the song title.

I see almost the same order of songs tonight.
lol, are they taking  a piss at Jane's Addiction with the title?
Exelent moment quitting here going for having breakfast.

Agreed. Maybe poster means to say regular Talking Heads / David Byrne - completely original and unique.

I don't recall hearing this when it came out. I always thought it was solo Byrne until i looked at the RP info.

RHCP: so much bad music. "Under the Bridge" was make-it-stop bad.

And he wonders why he is alone in his Mommy's basement.  PS: if you don't clean up your mess, your Mommy wants her laptop back!

NO, please no, someone else besides david burnt!
NICE - have not heard this in a very long time! From a great soundtrack too, I would expect most RP listeners would find it highly entertaining.
I used to have a screensaver that I downloaded on Windows 98, that had people dancing.  They danced in perfect timing to this tune. LOL.  Too funny!!
EXCELLENT!!  Obscure tune & excellent!   Thanx RP!

Seriously ? Because many of us grew up with DB's music and love it. DB is a very intelligent & creative
guy who has NEVER written with the intention of ending up on the "nifty fifty."
If it's such a pain in the arse, why not try the "nifty fifty" on your LOCAL AM ? You won't find DB there.

And maybe you should quit being an jerk and stop attacking the other posters that don't like the same things you do. Some of us come here for the music.

Even though I like TH/DB, I think that's a valid criticism, of course you could make it about other groups; Porcupine Tree, The Doves, etc. I haven't seen Bill in his office for weeks, I hope everything is all right. Maybe they have a cottage they go to in the summer. Of course he can control things remotely, but I've noticed very few, if any, new songs added to the rotation while he's been out of the office. I think the quality of the sets does suffer when he's away. {#Sad}

It is a testament to Bill's faith in his own musical tastes—and I suspect just a bit of upyers orneriness—that he keeps playing Talking Heads and David Byrne despite all the brickbats from y'all. Yes, Byrne is part visionary, part flake, but he's one hell of a musician. Give a little...
Really enjoy the music, concentrate on that if Byrne isn't your cup of tea.
 Papernapkin wrote:

that would be because TH/DB rock

Yuck, more nasty David Byrne..And why is he singing "Shut the daddy up?" WTF does that mean? I had to sit through them live once and I am still traumatized by it even though I was paid to be there :)

Saw David Byrne live Friday night - his show is amazing!
byrne. . . what a boor . . . .
Great music for a sunny monday morning!
Seriously, why so much TH?
Not enough Sax and Violins....{#Boohoo}

I'm with you. Way too much DB and TH on RP. Oh well, good thing there is a ton of other good stuff to listen to. That's what keeps me coming back, although I didn't get any kind of acknowledgement for my last $50 contribution of a couple of weeks ago. Hmmmnnn.

yes it is (8). Reminds me of "Songs from the Catherine Wheel". (and Papa Legba (sp?)) But really quite its own thing. I'll try to upload something from SftCW.

I truly think this is one of the best movie soundtracks. And this song one of the best tracks on it!

Greatest Soundtrack ever.
Possibly my favorite Heads song. Was late in the game for them (around 1991 if I recall correctly)...they never seemed to make anything like it again. It recalled some of their work from 5-10 years earlier. The album is wonderful. The movie was a big miss. Great actors, director, and concept in a convoluted and rather shallow final movie.

Looking at the album cover, it seems Bill would be safe to just pop the CD in and hit play. That looks like a great mix of artists to me. Anyone else heard the rest of the album? Worth picking up? -mt-
Yeah...this is a set of artists that RP likes to play. I would recommend this album based simply upon the list of artists. Having said that, I am WAY to cheap to pony up and pay. This song is a 8. Good overall but not the best of the Heads.

Thanks, gillespp and Marr, for the feedback. I just noticed it's a Wim Wenders film, so that's a bonus already. I'll give the album a try and try to get hold of the film, too.

Totally fantastic album. And the movie is very cool.
Ha! I was thinking that the last song(Cake - Short Skirt Long Jacket) sounded like Lou Reed with Talking Heads... I love the way this station sounds like one of my mixed tapes. Each song flows into the next with a puropose. And I absolutely love this whole soundtrack.

And this soul-moving vibe follows what I thought was one of the coolest! (Cake's Short Skirt, Long Jacket) Right! Keep it futile! Love it!
Please, no more Talking Heads. Please.

What is it with Radio Paradise and Talking Heads. I have to disconnect every time this band comes on cause it is just painful to listen t; which is way too often cause you play them way too much. This is my only complaint against the station as a long time listener, but it is a big one!
Do you happen to spam on the side? Seems you would be quite good at it.
This and Dead Man Walking are the two best movies soundtracks IMHO.

What is it with you insisting on posting the same comment on every Talking Heads/David Byrne song? We get it, you don't like them/him. I'd say Bill and Rebecca (and a majority of RP listeners, myself included) are fans. So I don't think TH/DB will be going anywhere any time soon, so I suggest you get over it!
Music is terrific and integral in all Wim Wenders's movies. Wish there was a soundtrack released for the new one, Don't Come Knocking.
David Byrne's voice just irritates me.

I bought the CD solely for this Talking Heads song and found myself exposed to other great artists I never listened to before like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, T-Bone Burnett, etc. It's my favorite compilation soundtrack of all time. I agree that the movie isn't so great, although Solveig Dommartin was very hot in it.
I bought this CD when it was first released in order to get my hands on a copy of U2's Until the End of the World. I was pleasantly surprised at the artistry demonstrated on this entire CD. Kind of fun to hear Julee Cruise of Twin Peaks fame on this disc as well. I finally saw the movie a few years later, mainly to see William Hurt's performance. VERY strange and convulted movie, kind of a sci-fi, road trip, post-apocalyptic kinda thing. Bottom line - buy the CD, skip the movie.

Hey, MickMan, didn't you just tell me about this soundtrack? thanks for the recommendation! wow, sounds great! If the heads are on it, i gotta get it !
I don't know why this is listed on a compilation album. First place I saw it was on their ablum, Sand in the Vaseline, which admittedly was a compilation, but of all Talking Heads songs.

how is there only one other comment on this song?? this song is gorgeous, and holds a very deep meaning for me. i would love to hear it more often on RP.
like the Kraftwerkish sounds in the back...
