I feel shot right through with a bolt of blue
It's no problem of mine but it's a problem I find
Living a life that I can't leave behind
There's no sense in telling me
The wisdom of a fool won't set you free
But that's the way that it goes
And it's what nobody knows
While every day my confusion grows
Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for that final moment
You'll say the words that I can't say
I feel fine and I feel good
I'm feeling like I never should
Whenever I get this way, I just don't know what to say
Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday?
I'm not sure what this could mean
I don't think you're what you seem
I do admit to myself
That if I hurt someone else
Then I'll never see just what we're meant to be
Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for that final moment
You'll say the words that I can't say
Time machine back to seeing them live in 1988.
Seriously amazing.
bring it on buddy
- Sure are, Boris, just kick back and enjoy.
- Thank Bill for that, I thought we'd crossed over to the Dark Side.
- No, dear, CC don't play surprising stuff like this.
Blue Monday 12 incher, anyone?
and the album art of Peter Saville is so timeless-still perfect design.
Yes, move your ass!!

I never thought they'd stoop so low as to play disco crap on RP. Definately sounds more disco than punk...way more..
Really. This hasn't aged well at all, has it? I remember liking this song at the time but can't imagine why right now ...
I think the problem is that most of you are from the US, you will just never get Joy Division and New Order, Americans seem to have problems with anything that didn't orginate from the good old USA. For instance I once met a group of Americans who told me punk started in 1984 in Chicago LOL! I didn't bother to enlighten them ;)
Yeah, we hate the Beatles and the Rolling stones too, and don't even get me started on Depeche Mode, or Foghat or XTC, The The, UB40.... These bands will never be popular here
Did you really think that out before posting it? Hell, we even had a period called "the Brittish Invasion".
Disgustingly AWESOME, you mean!
Bill, please follow this with some Wang Chung for these two.
Disgustingly AWESOME, you mean!
While you often won't get argument ....
Right on greyfin10 - but it still gets a 1. (And please excuse me for any offensive Canadian acts - you can probably guess who I mean )
While you often won't get an argument from me in regards to how parochial American attitudes are, you WILL get an argument from me if you imply this is a unique problem that "just the Yanks" have. It seems I've seen very similar accusations levelled at our friends and allies in the UK... and France... and... hmm, most everywhere else in the world. Humans are tribal... for eons this has been a social strategy that gave us advantages. However, like alot of "evolutionary" traits, its value has become increasingly vestigial over time. Racism is the most extreme example of this.
It appears you are correct that Joy Division and New Order aren't as popular in this country as they are/were in the UK. This could be for many reasons, not the least of which could be distribution and general lack of exposure in the US (not being an expert in this area, I wouldn't know. It does make sense though). I don't think it is an Anti-UK bias, or US protectionism for our artists etc. Not even close. Ask anybody of my era at least who their favorite artists are and I bet you'll see at least 50% came from the UK. And all things considered, I'd say that indicates a significant Anglophile rather than Anglophobe presense. At least in musical tastes.
So no... I don't buy your argument even a little bit. As far as the ignoramuses you mention below... shall we share our "embarrassing English" group stories? Again... we all have idiots we aren't proud of. Statistically, every x/100 people is a rube I'd rather lock in a closet when guests come over... unfortunately the authorities rather frown on that sort of behavior.
To make a long story short, I take issue with your premise.

Yeah, my life would be OK from here on out, if I never heard this again.
Yes, but no one is laughing. Except Tiggers, that thilly goose. TTFN.

But hey, it's a matter of taste, right? So I guess I'm happy for you guys who like that thing. ;)
I should hit refresh before asking questions. :)
I think I'd prefer the radio version.
I second that. And while Bizarre Love Triangles could be fun, this song =1....I wish I could give it negative #s.
(Although, is this the extended dance remix or something?)
Probably the first time in my RP history that I had to change the channel. Ultimate crap, sorry.
Maybe play the cover by Frente instead?
