I've always loved that CRUNCHY GUITAR, and Rod sure could belt it out. This still rocks in a very big way!

exactly. it totally captures a moment in time. a story that might resonate. i don't care - it's such a great song from music, to delivery, etc. and just the perfect length. 1971-1972 were great music years.

Well the commentor before you, eileenomurphy thinks it is iconic and I agree.

Anyway lizcrawford, no one condones this behavior and this behavior was not pervasive even back when this song came out. As long as consenting adults are involved, who cares.

Please take your selective outrage somewhere else and I will add a little extra to my annual RP support, to make up for the loss of your support.

It's degrading to men, too. When I heard it fresh (still own the album), I laughed out loud at the comical world described in the lyrics. No one can deny that this song rocks.

But any man who behaved like this -- even back in the mid-70s -- wouldn't have kept a partner more than two weeks or so. Any woman who partnered with a man under these rules would have left him as soon as a new man came along and winked at her. Or maybe nodded, as the album title alludes. Everybody understood those rules, even though many of us lived under better ones.

Kind sir, you could not be more wrong. I purchased this album when it first came out, and was amazed at how easily this band could rock!

Later on, I realized that Ron Wood and Ronnie Lane could bring the heat even without Steve Marriott. Somebody banged those piano keys like he didn't need an amplifier. Rockin' Rod brought his best cigarettes-and-hangover voice (and attitude) and — voila! — Brit Rock of the highest order.
