Surely you'll be mine
In a little while... I'll be there
In a little while
This hurt will hurt no more
I'll be home, love
When the night takes a deep breath
And the daylight has no air
If I crawl, if I come crawling home
WiIl you be there?
In a little while
I won't be blown by every breeze
Friday night running to Sunday on my knees
That girl, that girl she's mine
Well I've know her since,
Since she was
A little girl with Spanish eyes
When I saw her first in a pram they pushed her by
Oh my, my how you've grown
Well it's been, it's been...a little while
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Slow down my beating heart
A man dreams one day to fly
A man takes a rocket ship into the skies
He lives on a star that's dying in the night
And follows in the trail, the scatter of light
Turn it on, turn it on, you turn me on
Slow down my beating heart
Slowly, slowly love
Slow down my beating heart
Slowly, slowly love
Slow down my beating heart
Slowly, slowly love
Their last great album. IMHO.
Then again, I may be wrong because I've not listened to anything since all the way through.
The one with Atomic Bomb in the title is pretty damn good too. That might be their last great album.
well, maybe he was in the next pram over
This is just such an unpleasant sounding song.
Then again, I may be wrong because I've not listened to anything since all the way through.
when i lived in Dublin, i couldn't believe how harsh the Dubs are to Bono . . but i feel like we've grown up together, and this song just takes me home . . . "slow down my beating heart," indeed and big gigantic kudos to Bono for launching all the fantastic ONE stuff - https://www2.oprah.com/tows/pastshows/200610/tows_past_20061013.jhtml - i'm not sure that shopping can really save the world, but we Americans do what they can, eh?
When I lived in Dublin I was surprised by this too. We could express theories about why, but it's rather intangible. The Dubliners themselves can't explain it, really. I've asked a lot of friends and colleagues this question. However, I will say that seeing U2 in the 3 Arena a few years ago was an emotional experience, for the Irish crowd absolutely loved the band and gave the concert an electric atmosphere I've seldom felt in a concert.
I love the kind of trivia you get from RP users' comments... Makes it for a broader perspective of the music played here.
Thanks all and LLRP
Often, "What A Wonderful World" by Joey plays before this on RP. Long live RP.
I think you meant not enough, right?

I believe that RP is much more than that.
Was going to upvote... and then you slagged on Cheap Trick. No need to bump up one band at the expense of another.
Bona-fide Nero... nice.
I know a lot of people can't separate the artist from the art, but U2 is a great band and has put out a lot of quality music.... and Bono (bono vox) is a great singer! Deal with it....
If you are going to find contentment, looking up at The Flatirons, Boulder, Colorado is as good a place to start looking as anywhere. Slangevar!
I feel you, brother. Your comment brings me a new appreciation for the song. Thanks for the heartfelt message.
Yes, this is my first listen and it's kind of sad. Not a great song or performance from a band I used to be quite fond of. No need to hear this again.
Yep. I know they think they're the new Beatles, but there's nothing inspiring or groundbreaking here.
maybe, but then puberty kicked in.
Double DITTO!!!
tripple
That EVERYONE has decided that Bono really does suck, and is an egotistical a-hole who's head is too big for his hat, and has a voice that can strip paint?
I'd go along with that.
I didn't know stupid people could still get on the Internet, oh well!
Double DITTO!!!
In my opinion, of course.
A clearly uninformed opinion.
Right on!
Ditto.
