When I am lost in heart ache
Shudder, shatter
The pale you
My one and only true love
Nicolo
Espiritu
This is the smoking gun
I really want to see
(Deceived me)You deceive me
(With you)Erase it I will not
(to stay)Finishing a halo(didn't he know alice?)
( I will plead)I will not excuse you
(alice, alice, alice, alice, alice)
would share,
(alice, alice, alice, alice, alice)
who shall
(alice, alice, alice, alice, alice)
replace
(alice, alice, alice, alice, alice)
You
When I am lost in heart ache
Shudder, shatter
The pale you
My one and only true love
Nicolo
Espiritu
This is the smoking gun
I really want to see
(pushing me)Look she fell
(with you)Right there on the floor
(so you)Finishing with her life
(not me) It hasn't even started
Shudder, shatter
The pale you

Delays, Rostam, Cocteau Twins... a surreal Monday morning.,
Damn, years since I had heard Cocteau Twins, forgotten how good they were
3 to 8, only because I am missing my dear wife, Alice

Thanks RP. . .
A great soundtrack for a wonderful movie. Only with RP's help would I finally find a source for a CD, although missing one tract as others have pointed out. I guess I haven't seen it often enough to catch that. I have the cassette tape, but no cassette player.

I don't remember much about this movie except that the scenery was beautiful, Liz Tyler was gorgeous but an inexperienced actress and the plot was iffy. Roger Ebert confessed a little too much in this critique:
According to Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times, who gave it 2/4 stars, "The movie plays like the kind of line a rich older guy would lay on a teenage model, suppressing his own intelligence and irony in order to spread out before her the wonderful world he would like to give her as a gift....The problem here is that many 19-year-old women, especially the beautiful international model types, would rather stain their teeth with cigarettes and go to discos with cretins on motorcycles than have all Tuscany as their sandbox.."
Roger really didn't like that guy on the Harley.
Don't love the song, but I could stare at the album cover for daze. Which leads to the inspiration that we should let Steven Tyler cover this song for the yucks and chuckles. /Why no funny Steven Tyler emoticon?

enchanting
Stealing Beauty is one exceptional soundtrack. An eclectic mix, bouncing genres, spanning decades yet everything has this cohesion that produces an amazing whole album. I've listened to this soundtrack start to finish since it came out countless times.
I'm really happy they left "Olympia" by Hole off the soundtrack though it was featured prominently in one scene with Liv singing along and rocking out. I like to think the producers recognized that it'd be an out of place and abrupt speed-bump in the otherwise perfectly cultivated album.

What went wrong with the Cocteau Twins on this song? Most of their material I loved at once, or it grew on me over not too much time. So how come this one still annoys after so many years? Perhaps I had just stubbed my toe when I first heard it? I'm not sure it's my mistake, though.
I could hardly believe what I was hearing ... so great to hear Cocteau Twins! More, please.

I have been a CT fan for many years, but this is one of the worst. If this had been the first song I had ever heard by them, I would not have listened to any of their other stuff. Thank God that never happened, because the other music is sweet and trippy.
Guess I'll have to take your word for it, 'cuz I'll never get beyond this.
Okay, I will, because Bill won't let me be that much of a narrow-minded snob.
But this freakin' sucked.

Just adore Elizabeth Fraser's voice. Think I have about everything from Cocteau Twins. Thanks

I don't think I've ever been on the right drug to enjoy this.
The type of song where I get to use the descriptor, "piquant," and not feel like some pretentious snob. 'Cause it's a perfect word to describe this song, ya know?
Normally I like Cocteau Twins, but this is just painful. It doesn't really help that I already have a headache.

Wow, about as disparate in opinions as it gets. Personally, I LOVE hearing CT on Radio Paradise. Sorry to the rest of ya...
This is just plain awful.
I didn't like this song when I first heard it on RP 3 years ago. (to the day, look at page 2 of the comments)
Still don't.

Also available on on of 1 of several EPs released around the time of "Milk and Kisses." Haunting, but not one of their stronger tracks, IMHO.

This song annoys the heck out of me!!
Different. In a good way.
Okay, it is a classic band. Cocteau, Sioux, Cure, Dead Can Dance, Mortal Coil, hey how about some Red Guitars and The The in addition...
8O
this song is also on the excellently-compiled soundtrack for "Stealing Beauty" by Bernardo Bertolucci. he's such a dynamic director- check it out if you haven't yet! (soundtrack and movie)
i just decided i like this song. it took me a while, and it's still very creepy, but i like it... makes me think of ophelia, floating through the weeds, watching the clouds drift by from just below the surface of the water...

Yowza! I love the Cocteau Twins, but it's very odd to come in to one of their songs at the midpoint, as I just did right now. Screeeeech!
:sunny.gif:
I, too, thought it was Annie Haslam and Renaissance until I looked and saw it was the twins. As much as I admire the strength and range of the voices, this particular song didn't do it for me. There's a certain point in the scale where even the finest soprano voice sounds like screeching to me.

Can't understand a word they say, but I love them.
A friend of mine who is a huge Cocteua Twins fan played a song by them for me once. He pointed out an undecipherable phrase that I swore sounded like "In a salad, in a salad, in a salad bowl, ma ma ma ma"
Song sucks. But thats what I love about this station, you don't know if you don't like it if you don't hear it!
Keep em coming!
Can't understand a word they say, but I love them.
Great band, middling song.
And yeah, it IS sorta creepy. A lot of their early stuff was (although this is more recent).
AAAAAAaaaaaaaahhh. Cocteau Twins...simply the best. Thanks Bill.
i can't say i don't like it, but something about this song creeps the h*ll out of me.
Thanks for playing a track I've not heard by the Cocteau Twins...ethereal and sweet. Open your ears and open your mind....relax and float downstream.
Thanks RadioP!
it's this kind of stuff that makes me hope that my choral training paid off so i can sing it myself. ^_^
Geeze - and today was the day I bought a sweatshirt from you folks.. and then I almost puked... :-)
Prettyish vocals in a rather ho-hum and annoying sound. I\'m not quite sure what to make of it.
Nifty little tune. Very airie-fairy...which is NOT an indictment. I like it...reminds me of forest creatures.
Anton - sometimes I\'M a forest creature.
Very relaxing and meditative. Much better than some of the harsher Cocteau tunes.
This song grows on you. It just graduated from a \"2\" to a \"5\"
What a great SOUND.
Pretty voices but this song is very annoying.
i like the cocteau twins(a lot) but this song is one of my least favorites
Very nice how the last tone of this one harmoniced with Indigo Girls\' Starkville which came after it (compliments Bill).
It needs some closer listening. Intrigueing song, anyway.
Man, this tune is really getting a bad rap here. I actually really liked it. I love it when musicians try to push the envelope like this. I\'m going to have to check out more of the Cocteau Twins!
Please dont do that again
based on previous comments, I\'d say we have some people listening in who might not be as eclectic as the station they are listening to. This isn\'t my favorite song ever, but I think the semi-operatic singing in this song works pretty well
Like fingernails on a chalkboard.
*yawn* This nearly put me to sleep.
Nice to hear the Cocteau Twins being played, though still nowhere near enough compared to some artists/bands.
Just too screechy for me. Now my ears hurt.
