Wow
Makes me wonder what would happen if one of the current crop of female pop star girl/women who try so hard to be bad and sexy and all that just let it out and covered this one...
if you tried to walk down the sidewalk like this song sounds...
they could arrest you
I agree and less Doors and Who
.
(some Stones are okay)
They MUST have had fun, back then....
one of those days when all music is lame
I'm so glad I got to see her belt it out like only she can, at a weekend-long blues festival in K.C., along with Albert King, Buddy Guy, and lots of other legends...
Dude had it
"Taylor's career stretched more than five decades. While she did not have widespread mainstream success, she was revered and beloved by blues aficionados, and earned worldwide acclaim for her work, which including the best-selling song "Wang Dang Doodle" and tunes such as "What Kind of Man is This" and "I Got What It Takes."
I keep waiting for the chord change that never comes...

Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
they could arrest you
Great song anyway.
Don't even!
nope.
you can only have one or the other.
Are you sure? I thought you could get a hoochie doodle. Maybe that has to be special-ordered.
Can you do both at the same time?
Shazam!
nope.
you can only have one or the other.
Is it a food? A drink? A dance? A TV show?
Well...if you're male picture jumpin' around all up and down, without wearing any underwear. Maybe you're doing it to this music. Odd's are your wang will be dangin' and doodlin' all over the place....
Just some thoughts is all.....

Can you do both at the same time?
Only if you've got your mojo woikin'.

Shazam!
Cool. Never got around to see her in Chicago.
Is it a food? A drink? A dance? A TV show?
Amazingly powerful vocalist.
Is it a food? A drink? A dance? A TV show?
Actually probably all of those but the TV show. I always thought it was a sexual reference, but it is more of a reference to having a raucous good time:

Is it a food? A drink? A dance? A TV show?
Apparently, it is a music making endeavor of considerable energy.
Is it a food? A drink? A dance? A TV show?
Don't know but Koko sure is doing it.

Makes me wonder what would happen if one of the current crop of female pop star girl/women who try so hard to be bad and sexy and all that just let it out and covered this one...
It's considerably more private
love this
Just sayin'.
But yeah, that extra little guitar work is icing on the cake.
On an unrelated note... it's amazing how much my wife's boss looks like Koko Taylor. From what I understand, she can't sing like Koko at all though.
OK. Just as long as you stay away from my Dang Wang Noodle.
Willie said it didn't mean anything.
70's and LOVED them.
This song and a few others are still great, but in the last 25-30 years
I have never played a single Tull-CD at home on my system!
PS
I believe that "STAND UP" and even "THIS WAS" - not to mention
"LOCOMOTIVE BREATH" - have been their best works!
WTF? Y'know, buddy, even for you this one's sorta out there. Then again maybe I'm the only guy in town who doesn't instantly get the relationship between Koko and your love/hate thing with Jethro Tull. Maybe you can sort this one out for us. No, wait, you don't listen...you only talk.
And not to be lost in shuffle, Savoy Brown does a terrific cover.

Koko Taylor
Solid version that.
I prefer the Koko version on the Chess Box compiliation honoring Willie Dixon.
Crap, I was just getting into this and my boss came into my office. PLAY IT AGAIN, BILL!
God rest, Koko. Ye are sorely missed!
YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!
YIKES! Run! Back to the tree house guys.
YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!
You have got to be kidding me.
IMHO.
I am cuckoo for Koko.
Although I do prefer Savoy Brown's version over this.
(Well, and then there's the Wolf...)
No, this song is CLASSY
Interminable, yes, I agree.
what it is good finishes fast..... like your songs.....tankyou for following singing for us ms. Koko Taylor - ** 9 **
IMHO.
I am cuckoo for Koko.
She refused to come out on stage until the crowd was chanting K0-KO TAY-LAR, KO-KO TAY-LAR. She then spent most of her set yelling at the drummer.
But then again there were concerts in Chicago where she tore the house down!
Love this, love her. On the evening of our wedding, we got to see her perform live. Gobsmackingly memorable, even if she was no longer in her prime.
Just had to reiterate this.
