Well, I rolled and I tumbled
Cried the whole night long
Well, I rolled and I tumbled
Cried the whole night long
When I woke up this morning
Didn't know right or wrong
Well, if the river was a whiskey
And I was a diving duck
If the river was a whiskey
And I was a diving duck
Well, I would dive to the bottom
I'd swear, I'd never come up

Well, I coulda had religion
In this bad old Sunday
I coulda had religion
In this bad old Sunday
But whiskey and bad love
Wouldn't let me have my way

I rolled and I tumbled
And I rolled and I tumbled
I rolled and I tumbled

Jeff is the greatest guitarist in history. Right, Jimi?

He just did not handle his career in a way that allowed his prowess to get the recognition it deserved in his lifetime. Maybe now…
IN MY VEINS!!!
I bought this album, and then found the DVD/Blu Ray of the Ronnie Scotts gigs. The live version of this track is just awesome. Imogen does one of her own compositions, "Blanket" first, then "Rollin' & Tumblin' ".
You know you're playing air guitar and air drums to this. Yes you are! I SEE you!
The best version IMHO
Whoa.
I meant gone. Bloody predictive text really socks!
The guitarists guitarist. No one can rip your face off and make you cry at the same time with their playing. Saw him 5 times in London. Sad that he’s horn.
Check out “ The Keys To The Highway” with a certain BBKing.
  that voice. ugh.
There is some astoundingly inventive playing here.  Jeff Beck was sui generis, and I miss his humble brilliance.
Always a jamming gem, this one! Makes me wanna crank and boogie to ZZ Top's "I Heard it, I heard it, I heard it on The X..."
Any chance of playing some rubbish?

I am already 30 mins late for a meeting and you keep playing stuff I really want to listen to.....
Your right, Bill-your 70s are a gift!  We make the most of those here in Kentucky by listening and dancing to Radio Paradise!  And loving Jeff Beck!
Jeff Beck.  Damn.

Sometimes it's good to remind myself of how stupid I can be. How the hell did I rate this a 1, when it's clearly a solid 8!

Mmm, not me. I'm smoking what makes Beck be the master he was.RIP Geoffrey.

Exactly so.  I'd score this 11 if I could.

RIP,  Jeff. You were the greatest.
Now this is a good tribute to Jeff Beck.  thanks Bill.
Thanks William for the Beck run!

He was underappreciated.  He was so novel in his playing. The world was enriched by his contributions.
Third Jeff Beck song in a row on this terribly sad day.  Rock On! Jeff Beck all night would be OK with me!
RIP Mr Beck
He was rocking out right up til the end.. RIP Mr. Beck.
Rock In Peace JB. There will never be another like you. Thank you for all you brought us.
RIP to a master.
DEP, as we say here in Brazil.
Sounds like Jack White bullshit.
Nobody does it like Beck. Nobody.
Turn it up!
IMOGEN!  my gal... so good!!!
you know...that ole crafty bob dylan does one heck of cover of this

im just sayin
SUPERB!!!!
Who here has ever had sex to this song - raise your hand!  if you've got one to raise.

For when you need that extra push over the cliff ...
How am I supposed to get any work done with this tune playing?! Makes me want to Roll and Tumble instead.
Upped to 10.

Wikipedia says it's Imogen Heap.  Of course, you could have Googled it yourself ... or read two comments prior to your posting.

man, that's really GREAT SHIT!
Yeah Bill!  keep it coming....!  Guitars forever man!!!!
Killer!!!
vocals?
Woof! Robin Trower segues into Jeff beck. I know I shouldn't make comparisons but ... WTF. Beck all the way. This guy is seriously inventive, seriously innovative.
This is actually Imogen Heap (with Jeff Beck) and just the most amazing rendering of this classic song.

Oh, yeah, that is one amazing concert.

Are you sure?  Beck is a musical martinet and e'rso precise by nature - I would expect him to be the one driving the programming, doing the mastering and sampling etc..

Heap is a great modern mistress of sampling and mastering. She's been doing livestreams of her sampling work, which are super fun to watch.

Preceeded by Satriani!  A fantastic trifecta indeed.  And throw Imogen in.  What a way to start my work day!!!!!
Groovy.. Amazing how we live our lives and take for granted the awesome music that we grew up with.. RP is awesome..
My Lord, I find her voice incredibly sexy on this track. Youch!
Holy cow - Satriani, Trower, then Beck .  Work has stopped.

And listening to them in  row, I think the order is right, with Beck on top. His tone, feel, and playfulness are not equaled.
Play Isolation!!

Yes, Brian, you just have to go up 1 more.

I need to explore Imogen Heap further - introduced to her years ago through her quirky electronica, and her 'Toadlickers' collaboration with Thomas Dolby is both foot stompin good and lyrically hilarious. This is a good rip all 'round. Versatile lass.

Wow, what a great little set there. Joe Satriani, Robin Trower and Jeff Beck. Who's next, some screaming Zappa from Shut Up?! (Ship Ahoy)

I was going to make the same comment.  Followed my Leonard Cohen's "Who by Fire" did not keep the mood flowing the same way in the least.  PSD for me.
Oh Bill...... Trower followed by Beck....This is bliss to these old ears....
God is shredding again. What else to do on a Saturday night? It goes to 11!
Saw him at Wolf Trap last August. The concert concluded and the audience rose from their seats to leave. The guy next to me tells his date "You have been to church".
Well.....this is just bitchen!!
Still one of Beck's best

I saw her just before Christmas  supporting Josh Groban.  Just her and a piano.  I thought her set was dreadful, not using her tech talents at all.  I think the audience wondered what was going on.  She even forgot the lyrics at one point.

Good version; nice 'n' raunchy.

checkout R.L. Burnside 's cover of this great blues tune. 7 for JB an 8 for RLB. Keep on rocking, RP.
I thought this was Joan Osborne. But no, survey says Imogene Heap. I'm surprised, but in a good way.  Beck rules.

I believe the drums and bass on this album are programmed.  The whole thing stops you in your tracks and the only place I have heard it broadcast, like so much else here, is Radio Paradise.  But marvellous though the album is I find the chops and fills too intense, once a month or so is about right.

Ok that was pretty fantastic.  Nice combo - Beck and Heap!
This will get the morning cranking! Beck is the best player of his generation hands down.
Wow... Just... Wow.
Vocals by Imogen Heap.
If truly great music and playing is a sign of insanity — Beck is a lunatic.
This is one of those, "If I have to explain to you what's good about this, you won't understand"-songs!
GREAT song by one of BEST players ever!  A solid 10, to belittle is a sin.
Did Imogen do the production on this number? Sounds like her talent for sampling & mixing.
worth at least a 9 - done.
Good stuff!
Please make this song go away :)

Wow, I was listening in the background while working and this made me stop, click over to see who it was, and crank it up. This is a kick-ass tune. I love the interplay between the vocals and the guitar, the complete pauses preceded by a couple of power chords... so nicely crafted.

Did the same!  A beauty of a piece
Whoa, what is THIS?!?

That's Vinnie Colaiuta (drummer). I know him from Frank Zappa.

Check out his new album Loud Hailer.  Same badass stuff.

Just the most stunning guitar work. Awe inspiring in it's simplicity and power. Sounds so easy - just rolls out the guitar like a crazy voice.
Hot hot hot.

So hot.
