Well, I've got to run to keep from hidin',
And I'm bound to keep on ridin'.
And I've got one more silver dollar,
But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no,
Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.
And I don't own the clothes I'm wearing,
And the road goes on forever,
And I've got one more silver dollar,
But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no
Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.
And I've gone by the point of caring,
Some old bed I'll soon be sharing,
And I've got one more silver dollar,
But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no
Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.
No, I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no
Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.

Hey 'weirdo...get your freakn ears checked bro.
Strange the number of comments on RP complaining about Neil Young's vocals, but no-one seems to mind this screeching.

Leo Kottke doing 'Little Martha', into ABB - I saw what he did there...

Best ever jam band. Better than the Dead.
(now, I duck and cover...)

I totally agree and I totally disagree...two bands who each hold their own.
And BTW, I remember I read somewhere that the Dead where admirers of the Allman Brothers because of their way of jamming.

Everything recorded there was GOLD. Of course, this was not on the Live at Fillmore East Album. Must have been tough deciding what would go on there at the time
Now THIS is a song. Big 10
This is beyond Godlike when I hear the FLAC version. Yes, one of the best live albums ever.

RIP, Gregg Allman. You are the author of some of the greatest American music and the namesake head man in one of the greatest jam bands anyone has ever heard. Let's put 'Jessica' on an endless loop.

Interesting version, not on the original Fillmore album, as I recall.
Yeah, I know, Dickie was an angry redneck, but he was the real deal, he wrote this and was largely responsible for their sound. Deserved better treatment.

Almost sounds like Jerry Garcia was sitting in on this one.

Us rednecks say thanks for the southern music ...Now how about some blue sky or Dickie's highway call

Gregg's autobiography is most excellent.
Catch them this year whilst Trucks and Haynes are still in the band. Very tight. Superb playing (and you ain't gonna hear it this good agin'//)
Nice rock mix here since I got back from lunch!

There have been various multi-disc "expanded" versions of this CD. Probably from one of those.
I'm not sure what album this is from but it's definitely not on Live at Fillmore East. Very cool version of the song, though.

One of the best live rock albums of all time.
But don't take my word for it. One listen to Stormy Monday should do it for ya... And this take was released only much later than the original double album.

Hell ya!
Yeah you right
Made my day when I heard this song begin. Brings back some good times and memories for me. Love it!
This song is soooo good for the ears!!!!
It's been Ages since I've heard the studio version of this song and far longer since I listened to this album. Great song, great band.
RIP Dickey Betts and all those other wonderful musicians.
