My love is generations old,
I was there when trees died as the world went cold
Still there when my people were bought and sold
What's going on? What's going on?
[Dido]
Your love is on a grand scale
Mine is in the detail
Your love is to change the world
We just want to have to hold
Two hearts, both forgiving
Two ways to see the same thing
One house there's room for all
We just want to have to hold (2x)
[Maxi Jazz & Dido]
No roots, no tree, no family, no me
[Maxi Jazz]
Our first fuck was more planning than luck
I had a deep understanding of what makes you (hot)
I did my homework till my dome hurt, I was a stone flirt
Hustling for some prone work, and I don't stop
I knew that you were good for me,
You 'n I fit together so beautifully
But only for three years were we in harmony
I've ended up part you, part me,
Love that we agree, not be ugly
And now that we're free to create our own destiny
You will always be a friend to me
My love persists over land and sea, through centuries
I'll fill you up like rice and peas,
Like the breeze, Cool ya skin, fill your hair,
Even when I'm not there.
Like the breeze, Cool ya skin, fill your hair,
Even when I'm not there.
Like the breeze, Cool ya skin, fill your hair,
Even when I'm not there.
Like the breeze, Cool ya skin, fill your hair,
Even when I'm not there.
Ignore the haters. William, thank you for playing Faithless. They filled a gaping hole in the Trip Hop Genre as Massive Attack was winding down. They were truly genre bending. I would call them progressive Trip Hop. No Roots was a brilliant thematic masterpiece. Rhythmic and driving but also very melodic. Great vocals from Maxi Jazz (RIP) and Dido. Later albums included mesmerizing vocals by Zoe Johnston. What ever happened to her anyway? BTW, I'm a 60s plus white dude so don't assume.
Dido...I mean ditto! I am also 60 and have loved this group from the beginning. Smart music.
I like this! Kinda like Tricky and Maria, Rollo and Dido. Nice combo!

Love this
"He was also a lovely human being with time for everyone and a wisdom that was both profound and accessible. It was an honour and, of course, a true pleasure to work with him.
"He was a brilliant lyricist, a DJ, a Buddhist, a magnificent stage presence, car lover, endless talker, beautiful person, moral compass and genius."
From Maxi Jazz' Instagram account, signed by former bandmates.Jesus Christ. Get over yourself. Or whatever. You're probably a bot.
Laughing. Can I please use this: "You're probably a bot."

Wow. Look Ma...I'm a rap song writer now!!!!!
And it only took me 10 seconds.
Now...where is my #%@!^&* pay check

A 1 because of profanity
I actually sorted by least popular to give and extra thumbs down.
Does their drum machine not have any other pattern besides the one they programmed?
I would really hope that the drum machine doesn't become sentient and start playing its own riffs...cause Skynet...and oh oh...
Who made you Vice President of Expression?
Fuck that.
Jesus Christ. Get over yourself. Or whatever. You're probably a bot.
I agree between this station and the current out if Minnesota, KEXP out if Seattle and WFMU out if jersery city i have discovered such great music
I always ask if this is Dido also!
Faithless meets Dido meets Massive Attack!
Not 100% sure, but I think it is... she's listed under "associated acts" on the wiki info
Happy one day, Sad the other,
Do you have hope?
Exactly!

I think i heard 90% of their releases and i still love it. There is soooo much more than Insomnia

Gee fred. This one must hurt coming from un verdadero Scottish Viking (though ya never know, his genes could come from all over Europe).
I am good with the spoken word in music. Leonard Cohen, perhaps? Steven Wilson does spoken word in his rock ballads rather well but hey I could be partial.
I am not that fond of most 'rap'. Must be going on 97 .....
For sung words, try one of the most famous revolutionary ballads in Latin America: Cantata de Santa María de Iquique.

Rollo Armstrong, a member of Faithless, is Dido's brother. So yes, those are Dido's vocals; she's been in other work by him as well, and he helped her with her first 3 albums.

I've heard this live in Munich some years ago - great performance and super sound!
Ether that falls
Down on these walls
Burnin' my arms
I've been alone
When I sat by you
For every word I could undo
I've been uncrossed
and I've been untrue
I've been the thorn
I've been the hunt
With a heart of my own
Burn it down low
The light in your verse
And the shadow between
The way that I was when I used to roam"
Girl's got game.
Where's my can of pop?
Do pigs really eat slop?
Shop until you drop!
She just did a flop.
Beep but no bop.
Slow down...it's a cop.
Hey....where's my check for another great rap song!!!!

Stop liking what I don't like!!!

Actually, I suspect it's rather melodic.
(Tricky may be easy to listen to, but the man can't hit the beats here without extensive overdubbing.)
Wow. How old are you, 95? This is Tricky, probably one of the easiest-to-listen-to MCs out there. If you can't take him, you probably don't like people talking either. I'm glad I don't live in your "sing or shut up" universe. It's probably very small and shouty.
Nice trip-hop electronica at the end, mind, which was worth turning the sound up again for.
Looks like Bill junked that one 4 years ago...

It is. She's Rollo Armstrong's sister.

Better watch where you put that name!

. . . Different, catchy, shiny . . . got that new car smell.
