Whatever happened to the sun
It seems to always come
Back when we were young
We'd sing and party all night long
The season don't ever come on time no more
War paints over the years
And anger fills our tears
What happened to the sun
But I know, I know, I know I'm not alone
But I know, I know, I know I'm not alone
Everytime I read the news
I'm always more confused
Tellin' me to choose
But there's only lies to choose from
And how many died today
How many lost their homes or shot a gun
Or a loved one
What happen to our sons
But I know, I know, I know I'm not alone
And I know, I know, I know I'm not alone
I know I'm far away from home but I know I'm not alone
I know I'm far away from home but I know I'm not alone
It seems to always come
Back when we were young
We'd sing and party all night long
The season don't ever come on time no more

Why is the volume level for PSD selections so much lower than the main stream?
I just discovered that Michael Franti was the frontman of Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy... Wow, such a different sound!

Really awesome live shows.... A San Francisco classic, bringing his soul to the front! Spearhead is a prophet for our times. If you can catch him with his documentary (I'm Not Alone) - it's an excellent experience. He came up to Sebastopol, and it was just him, his bare feet, his acoustic guitar, and the film... a POWERFUL film, a moving Q/A session with Michael sitting on the stage of the local high school, and then a mind-blowing, heart opening live acoustic solo set. He's our Marley...
The best combo: happening music that's socially conscious. Tell it like it is, brother, loud and proud!
Love to the Franti-man. Power to the peaceful. You can't have too much Spearhead!

No content one can do anything with!
Just another filler post!
Honestly?
I would have you removed from this site!
"HO HUM" poster!
WHERE IS THE MELODY?
Where the harmonies?
No rythm one can do anything with!
Just another filler-song!
Frankly?
I would not want this pressed onto a silver-disc!
"NO HUM" whatsoever!

thanks for playing michael......always provocative

This is the theme for Jann Arden's summer show on CBC Radio. Until this moment I thought they'd used one of her songs. Now with just one week left to go for her show, I know differently. I hope we'll hear more on the radio from Jann in the future, her show has been very cool.
Going down to TO in November to see him. I prefer his more angry protest stuff, but if this is as poppy as he gets, I'll take it!

You are not alone!
He is coming to Billings Montana, they think he does just pop songs.
I can't wait for him to sing this, as well the other protest songs. Ha Ha
Ha Ha. I will be there to see it.

Hey, he opened for John Mayer this past Saturday night. I must say he was not bad at all. It also helped that he came out and played with Mayer as well....
With or without you... with or without you...

I don't like Micheal Franti anymore ... he just seems like a self-righteous plastic revolutionist.

Michael Franti? How about 'Michael Frantically trying to cash in on what little name recognition he has left'?
For someone who started out in an Industrial Punk band, he sounds about as vanilla and middle-of-the-road as Bono these days.
Yah, but what's sadder than an old guy trying to be a punk?
I don't have a problem with this song.

If a little bit of Pete Yorn followed this song it would be a sweet transition.

My daughter likes to use lots of big words in complex sentences in her AP History essays. "The teacher likes it" is her reasoning. Sound enough but I usually give her my own piece of advice- " big words don't always convey big thoughts".

You should check out a couple of his other CDs: Home and Stay Human for starters.
I refrain from rating, because anything played after Vertical Horizon's crap sounds like a 10 to me. I am skewed.

I got in trouble a few years ago at Telluride Bluegrass Festival for yelling "how u feelin' " in the kitchen at 6:00 in the morning after Spearhead's set. It was the first time I had seen them. We were having too much fun.
Fitting for the day after the 4th anniversary of the beginning of the war. Bring 'em home NOW!

It is commercial when you start hearing it on a regular basis on Starbucks XM Channel. Several times a day.
But I still like it.

Yeah, this sounds a lot more polished than Spearhead's first album. I would even dare to say 'commercial'. But that doesn't necessarily mean it would be bad at all.

Right on! Why this idiot is going to see the Franti idiot for the sixth and seventh times in less than a year...hooray for intelligent people with great songs!
Right you are Johnnie - thanks for putting the snobs in their place.
False. On several accounts. Just because it's "blatant" doesn't mean it's not intelligent.
Some of the most powerful literature is very simple. Some of the most powerful music is simple.
Sometimes idiotic, terrible lyrics are used in great songs.

I have, but I think it is more a symptom for Franti starting off his sets. I am not sure which one causes the other.
And nice name!!
