I thought I'd found a reason to live
Just like before when I was a child
Only to find dreams made of sand
Would just fall apart and slip through my hands
But the spirit of life keeps us strong
And the spirit of life is the will to carry on
Adversity
What have I done to you
To cause this reclusive silence
That has come between me and you?
And the spirit of life remains in light
And the spirit of life remains inside, inside
I never thought it would be quite like this
Living outside of mutual bliss
But as long as the veins in our arm still stand up
The spirit of life will keep living on
Just like before when I was a child
Only to find dreams made of sand
Would just fall apart and slip through my hands
But the spirit of life keeps us strong
And the spirit of life is the will to carry on
Adversity
What have I done to you
To cause this reclusive silence
That has come between me and you?
And the spirit of life remains in light
And the spirit of life remains inside, inside
I never thought it would be quite like this
Living outside of mutual bliss
But as long as the veins in our arm still stand up
The spirit of life will keep living on

Such a beguiling, ethereal soundscape.

Ahhh it is.
Instant 7 after the first few measures.... halfway through bumped to 9. Awesome track by an ever-impressing group. Bummed they canceled the show I was set to see a few years back. Hope they come around again. Thanks RP!
Jimbo has risen from the dead for the Dead!
Holy Jim Morrison...is he back from the dead dancing?
Neoclassical darkwave music, eh? I learned my "something new" for today. New term for a genre that sounds very familiar.
Very Doors. 👍
Good tune I like the bass sound. Electronic bass? ...eh? Reminds me of the electronic bass on Jerry Harrison's Casual Gods album.

Yeah, it's just not the same without that terza rima riff...

A passage in time 1991
I thought that was Brendan Perry's voice. This isn't a DCD track that I've ever heard, and I've not seen that compilation album in the shops. Does anyone know on which album this track appears?
A passage in time 1991
Where's my goth girlfriend, huh Bill? Can you answer that?
Wow these guys are great. I hope there as deep and interesting as Porcpine Tree
I hate the apple phone app, it will ad the comments on the current playing song, not the one you started in.

While I can see the similarity - are you SURE they're not more like all the other bands quoted below??

From what I can tell it was only released on their 1991 Compilation "A Passage in Time" - greatest hits!

the release date and the album title don't really sync up, do they?.....
EDIT: Now fixed....

Oh, good memories. I remember when my mom brought this album home for the first time. I was 12. In the beginning, I thought it was too strange for me, but growing up I started loving Dead Can Dance.
The singer reminds me of Marc Almond - but less camp and more talented.
There's something just ... nerdy/groovy about DCD. One of my secret treasures.

Totally agree, Morrison cloned voice. Love this band! Will have to check out Brendon's solo stuff. Did not know it was out there.
Brendan Perry's voice reminds of JIm Morrison a bit - anybody else? His solo-work post Dead Can Dance is terrific as well. Not a weak song on any of this albums.

Heard this wafting from the other room and had to come in to check it really was what I thought it was. This is one of their most underrated (and a bit hard to find) tracks. Great to hear on RP!!

most excellent imo (cool voice : )
Def Brendan Perry. Distinct and sensational.
man, he has a sexy voice..........sends me places..........
Nothing like DCD - love this track! Great to see this new addition to the RP list.

Looks like this song was first released on another compilation album A Passage in Time. Also on the double-vinyl version of Into the Labyrinth.

Any positive statement I have regarding DCD would ultimately be inadequate. :)
Love RP

Sounds like Joy Division, but not so linear. I like it.
Sounds like 'Divine Comedy' but not as good
DCD in all their transcendant glory! Wonderful addition.
Decent tune.
I love DCD
Love, Love, Love
Nice sound
Even as a die-hard DCD fan, that one is awesome. Thanks Bill for including on RP now :)
More Dead Can Dance !
