For the skies lamenting
All around silence
Has its roots sunk deep
My longing lingers
My tresses twist
But in my isolation
All truth is empty
Waiting by the wayside
Of an endless reverie
Where all the things I run from
Are sure enough to find me
Would that love were something
Than a false slavery
To a god I don't know
And to all the things that tempt me
Then in the light of reason
Where truth is empty
The alchemy of sin
Would be revealed
Waiting by the wayside
Of an endless reverie
Where all the things I run from
Are sure enough to find me
Oh, I HAVE to get this CD!!! Edit: Feb 13...did so through Amazon through RP page and love it cover to cover...thanx RP for another artist I never would have known about
I did the same....outstanding, isn't it? Thanks RP!
Enya ripoff... they both suck
I really think we take our freedom here for granted. This woman would not be singing this tune if she was still in her homeland.
Or xenophobia for that matter, apparently.
My life is literally better because Bill and Co. play awesome music like this!
I Agree! That is why we come here! Thanx RP!
Stop the Hate! Gave her an '8'
I Agree! and I gave it an EIGHT! I might bump up my rating in the future, after listening some more!
I got 5 dollah says he plays Lorena McKennit or Afro Celt Sound System next. Any takers?
if you like female vocals, traditional music and electronic beats, check out
Kiril Dzajkovski&Vanja Lazarova
Thank You for the info.
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

Imagine that for a moment...
Another painful sacrifice of grammar for a rhyme.
Ok... Hows this
Its an Enya ripoff because they both SUCK!
Who cares about the origin or tradition.
Were you very ignored as a child? You seem to rather like seeking attention.
"Sex is a lot like pizza. When it's good, it's really good. When it's bad. it's still pretty good."
I've heard that pearl of wisdom before. Anyone who thinks it's true didn't get out much.
Absolutely.
My thought as well
Or Massive Attack (Inertia Creeps)
I can hear Robert Plant performing this.
You may need to reset your equalizer.

Not that it'd make much difference.

Ya! and mysterious and all kinds of other nice adjectives! Thanks for this new (to me) song, Bill!

Ugh. Digging yourself deeper into the pit of ignorance, ck.
Man no kidding. Today I'm on meds that "may cause drowsiness" and this Persian Drone Strike is not helping!!!
It's very hard to avoid flaming after such an ignorant comment. Enya is a Celt, Azam Ali a Persian, and their works come from their different cultural and musical traditions. Other than being women singers, they've got f*ck-all to do with each other. The idea of Azam Ali ripping off Enya is just bonkers.
That you don't like either is fine - no shame on you. That you conflate them is shamefully ignorant.

This is a zero on the RP scale, but a 5 on the pain scale.

I can understand how this could be annoying to some, but it is not that bad...wow. Definitely need to be in the mood for it...

I don't see why - Azam Ali left Iran as a young girl, and now lives in the USA. See her Wikipedia page. I'd lay pretty heavy odds that the theocracy would loathe her, though the people probably bop like crazy to her music. This is a terrific album, not a duff track on it, both exotic and, in parts, erotic. Highly recommended.
Prodigy - unpredictable? Hardly. You want unpredictable try Squarepusher or Aphex Twin!

Cuban cigars. Fireworks. Saganaki. BC bud.
A fine set of combustables ...
Great segue from William Orbit
Thanks for the tip.
NO sense in paying more for something you're going to burn.

Nice comment. I'll have to remember that.
That's a funny image.... yuppie's in their overpriced re-vamped apartments...at it to the sounds of this jibberish.
... a burned CD-R with Thievery Corporation, Afro-Celt Sound System, maybe some John Mayer to mix it up.
To each their own and all, but me and the missus'll stick with "Honky Tonk Women" on repeat...

If I may borrow a very well-used comment....
This song is soooo good for the ears.
And the bedroom....
As criticisms go, that's, well, "boring and predictable". The vast majority of music falls into the "predictable" category, from Mozart onwards. You want unpredictable, go for Stockhausen or The Prodigy. Boring, of course, is your own view and fair play to you, but as insults go, "predictable" is in the same category as "derivative" and just as meaningless.
Thanks for answering that much more sensibly and eloquently than I could have, Fred. If you ever find yourself in central Ontario, I'll buy you a beer.

That being said, I really like what I've heard from her.
Thanks for the recommendation. I may have to open the wallet again.
Kinda, yeah. Whenever I hear this, I end up thinking, "I could really go for some Massive right now."
A decapitated head is nothing at all.
Add me to the list that doesn't!
Huh? Wut?? Oh. Sorry. Zzzzz...
nope.. just endless! it goes on and on and on and on and on....
And I resent that Viagra remark...remember Viagra is a upper, unlike this ditty!
(Does it really matter where she was born or brought up or lives? Cheesy is cheesy in any location!)
Thanks for saying what I didn't have the words to say. I'd like to add something relating her to Barbara Streisand as well, but I haven't had enough caffeine.
Yo.
(Does it really matter where she was born or brought up or lives? Cheesy is cheesy in any location!)
Fixed.
I hardly think so, and I write that as a MA fan. Since when have MA been big on Indian and Persian tunes and beats? And she is the real thing, being Iranian by birth, Indian by upbringing, and now a US citizen. She'll have been infused with Asian music from her early years. See the Wikipedia entry on her.
Maybe she should sue Massive Attack, being the "Real thing"? And I always thought Coca Cola was the real thing. Or was it Pepsi?
Man, this world is too complex for a simple man like me.
