erinnert mich an Vollenweider
Please add Graham Lear on drums with the original group. His drumming was spectacular, just watch the Woodstock performance. As for you all that think this is cheesy, you have no clue what makes a virtuoso musician. Stick to your EDM crap.
11.5
ahhhh
hear the pat methany influence
pat was tearing it up in late 1970s and early 80s

This seems like a response to George Benson's 'Breezin'' album, even though that had come out 10 years earlier. Carlos can't help but play the same old lines, though. His solo here sounds like a Santana Greatest-Licks repeat, as nice as those licks always are...
Cliched and dated or not, this IS Carlos Santana at the top of his game. Absolute classic, post "Black Magic Woman" era. .

This was the love song in the Desperado soundtrack. I’ve always liked it but never connected the dots. That soundtrack has so many amazing musicians

Yep
I would bet that if this tune was not identified as Santana, but by some unknown new indie group, the rating would double.
Beautiful song.
Beautiful song.
Yep
Eeeewheww — no thanks on this one, too much of that cheesy "smooth jazz" sound for me.

Where's that bran-muffin emoticon? Just yankin' yer chain, LowPhreak, I'm sure I could use it myself from time to time. Avoiding the issue much?

What a delicious sound.
I'd suggest RP play it back-to-back with Stevie Ray Vaughn's Riviera Paradise.

Name a "period" of pop music that didn't have its own instruments or "cliche'd" sound. So what should we do - throw everything out that you can tell came from a certain time period?
I'll toss you a clue: music generally reflects the times it's written for and played in. That's kinda what it's for. Also, musicians use what instruments and techniques they have available at the time to produce it, not what they don't yet have from some point in the future.
Duh.
I like this... but it's an instant reminder of that cliched e-piano sound that dates so much stuff from this period!

there are times when hearing song in a closed room does not do the song justice
i.e.: an elevator
try hearing this on the north rim looking southeast or on the coast north of port alberni during a good storm
For those moments when you want to feel like you're in an elevator. Next up? Yanni.

One of my favorite scenes in Desperado!!

And what did you expect? I masterpiece for very song for every album? You guys seem like you listen just a couple of bands, and just a couple of albums and just a couple of songs which are "master pieces". Just don't come shouting when you get bored.

This sounds like a John Hughes movie!

Brutal.
Wow, shutting off Santana makes my skull go "ahhhh."
Yeah, yeah, he's a genius, whatever. But this is really slow and boring, and sounds like it belongs on some easy listening FM station.
Why does this remind me of the Goonies?
I like this... but it's an instant reminder of that cliched e-piano sound that dates so much stuff from this period!
Decent background music, but that's about it for this one.
Would have thought the RP listeners would rate higher - odd that it's as low as it is
Tasty
the man has tigers in his hands, and the feathers of birds as wings, and the voice of ?? maybe angels
Oooh...yeahhhhh...smoooooth.....cheeeeze jaaaazzzzzzz... Drop a m7 chord in there, Carlos...come on...I know you have it in you...music for white people to copulate to...
This sucks.
And before you get on me about him being "Carlos Santana", everyone pinches one out from time to time and this was one of those times. Just listen to the acoustic version of "Layla". Seems that's the only version they play anymore.

I loved this album until someone broke into my car and stole it while it was in the tape deck. Brooklyn, 1988. Never got another copy.
