I hear a voice that fights the wind, the rain that keeps fallin'
And I feel a river rushin' in between you and me
And you keep on lookin' for something that's not lost
And I wish that somehow I could carry you across

Why don't you rest your worries darling one, sweetheart?
Why don't you rest your worries darling one, sweetheart? Sweetheart

When they told you that the great parade had long since passed
I saw you waiting there for the good times to come back
I'm feelin' blue 'cause there's so much to live up to
And I wish that somehow I could give it all to you

Why don't you rest your worries darling one, sweetheart?
Why don't you rest your worries darling one, sweetheart? Sweetheart

And I wish that somehow I could give it all to you

Blues by numbers ?

I met them in the early 90’s while living in CA. I was walking to a coffee shop & they were also walking along the same path. Awesome!
They really sound like Wilco on this song

Me too!  Half Camper VB songs and half Cracker.  So good!!

how big was the club?
I thought it was Cake. I wasn't that mistaken since a Cracker is just a little cake ;-)

(kind of like Cure/Placebo ?)

Agreed.
Any rating below 8 would indicate a genuine lack of good taste in music.
Cracker.

The songs creep up on you after a while.   Seems I like most of what Cracker does per RP streams.
If they play near were you live, go see them....
Didn't know them.
....and didn't hesitate long to rate 8!
I'm pushing 60 and I've had my string of "favorite bands" over the years.  Kind of like Billboard's pop chart, a song goes to number #1, how long it stays there is anybody's guess.  Well, after seeing them live about ten years ago, Cracker nabbed my favorite band slot and it's still there. Will they ever be dethroned?  Kinda hope not.
I don't always like Cracker but tonight I do. I'm sure it's because of how they were placed in this set. BillG does a nice mix.
Always good to hear a Cracker tune with a buzz on! David's voice rocks. Johnny still loves to grunge it up, and I love the way he plays!

And that´s the main reason I don´t like it. Had to scroll down (a lot) to see if the similarity had been noticed before.
Cracker, live at night on a float in a parade:

I just wanted to say that I hope you're paying Mr Cracker for streaming this song. He has been very vocal about how Spotify, Pandora etc are all making a fortune and how he's only getting fractional pennies, or something, for thousands of plays.

Great song...this is a fun, easy to listen to album!!

in a appointment with death of winter, accompanied with THAT music- WOW!

I really like Cracker...and this is my absolute favorite of theirs...it has a melancholy to it that makes me smile (is that possible?) thanks, Bill.

I gave it a 2.  BooYah!
Singer is instantly recognizable-still favor the Camper Van Beethoven version of this band......just saying{#Meditate}
I normally love Cracker, but thisounds like they're slogging through a first tryout of a new song. And did they borrow the singer from Cake? ApologieStingray but this is a 5.
MOST UNDERRATED BAND IN GEORGIA AND BEYOND?

I have always been a fan of all incarnations of this dude starting way back in the Camper Van Beethoven days, but I am not particularly fond of this album. However, I do like this song. 7

Shit...  I think I might actually agree with Stingray...  Here comes the Zombie Apocalypse...

Great band. I admire the variety in the songwriting. They have a "sound" (think Eagles—haters ignore this), but produce songs that are as intelligent as they are fresh.

Aged?  This is their latest.

Not a big Cracker fan but I'll give an 8 for the doorbell chime intro

{#Cheesygrin}
Even when I think the song won't grab me, David Lowrey's voice always does! Very nice.
Very nice, indeed!

What?? The Hives?? I like the Hives a lot but Cracker doesn't sound anything like them.

Uhm, would you believe a slower-tempo, less thrashy, less distorted Hives?

You're right, I went and listened to Veni Vidi Vicious again and really the only similarity is, possibly, on "Hate To Say I Told You So."

GREAT-GREAT US band!

I'm hot and cold on these guys but this is a good tune.

Have to hear it again —- there's a "newness" to it that I'm tryin to figure out.
Drinking coffee, losing at computer scrabble, drifting through Bill's odd & wonderful song selections.  Nice way to spend a morning.

Ever since Kerosene Hat, Cracker CDs have been ho-hum/ok. But this CD has blown me away. What a come back. Best roots rock-n-roll I have heard in a while.

Sorry you feel this way. I know the singing leaves something to be desired, but the song writing, guitar and overall instrumental arrangements are awesome.

Bill please play St. Cajetan (sp?) from the eponymous album  — I defy anyone not to like Cracker then!

"Cracker grows up" — seems funny to hear such sentiments coming this band.  Great guitar, great song IMHO! {#Roflol}
It's not a bad song, they just can't sing.
There are certain artists I know I'll hear once a day on RP for better or worse, and Cracker is one of them. It's definitely a better thing in Cracker's case! {#Music}

Another pretty likeable song by Cracker.  A lot of people are crazy for them though.
