No time no place to talk about the weather
The promise of love is hard to ignore
You said the chance wasn't getting any better
Labour of love is ours to endure
The highest branch on the apple tree
It was my favourite place to be
I could hear them breaking free
But they could not see me

I will run for shelter
Endless summer lift the curse
It feels like nothing matters
In our private universe

I have all I want is that simple enough
There's a whole lot more I'm thinking of
Every night about six o'clock
The birds come back to the palm to talk
They talk to me, birds talk to me
If I go down on my knees

I will run for shelter
Endless summer lift the curse
It feels like nothing matters
In our private universe

And it's a pleasure that I have known
And it's a treasure that I have gained
And it's a pleasure that I have known

It's a tight squeeze but I won't let go
Love is on the table and the dinner's cold

I will run for shelter
Endless summer lift the curse
Feels like nothing matters
In our private universe

Though I love the band, farewell means farewell. Like LCD Soundsystem, if I'm gonna get misty about you leaving, don't come back.

Randomly played this to my kids on my guitar last night. Then out of the blue it comes up on RP.

All is well with the Universe.
NF is playing in Saratoga CA next Tuesday.
Neil Finn is such a treasure. We should not overlook his genius.
Apple of my eye tells me
 What the original sin is.
Wish I'd seen them live...I bet I'd love it...
What a great band. So many good songs and they could do live and maybe even sound better. 8.5 for me.
IMHO, a most under-rated band.
They performed at the Arboretum here a few years back, but I missed it. Outdoor woodland concert....  How gutted am I?
Always reminds me of riding my horse through the woods.....
Nice song that gains a lot on live (I had until now only listened to the live version included in the second disc of their recopilatory album). Nice to hear this one, but I prefer the former!
I can't conjure one song, one phrase, one note from Neil Finn that hasn't failed to grab or otherwise excite me. One definition of "genius." The RRHOF may ignore Joe Jackson, a crime, but they will ignore Neil Finn at their peril. OTOH, I'm sure he could care less.

That's usually the case IMO.  Love this song anyways.

Mmmm... private tunaverse!
terrific live version of a terrific song

excellent choice Bill!
Cool version of an AWESOME song
A wonderful live rendition of an amazing song!  The "Farewell to the World" DVD is rather awe-inspiring when you see the amount of people - over 100,000! - who came to the farewell show by Crowded House in 1996.  Well, "farewell" until they got back together in 2007!
