We sent them all across the ocean
Many lives were taken
Well I didn't cry, I didn't know them
And I just looked on with no expression

This land was once a home
Of friends and family
We used to know
They are all gone now
They are now gone
And for what I cannot tell

Put down your banners and flowers
This war you've made won't last
Your country, just lines on a map
They're drawn up, they don't last

The paper cities burning
The ashes fell like rain
But when the fire was over
Everything had changed

The people come together
Reminds us we're the same

Put down banners and flowers
This war you've made won't last
Your country, just lines on a map
They're' drawn up, but they don't last

The best song on the album
Listen to their 'Dust Bowl III' track. That's my favourite. This is okay. But not their best.
ponderous for ponderous' sake
NO WAY!!!

Was enjoying this new Rufus Wainright song until I noticed it was actually by an Oklahoma band called Other Lives.

You must be wired wrong.  Because you are wired (at least for music) like me!  LOL!  best -westslope

Elbow, Coldplay?

Here I'm thinking American country icon Willy Nelson.  :-)

Hehe, you youngsters {#Cheers}

The lead voice and the arrangements remind me of Procol Harum ... the ominous drumming at the beginning reminds me of their 'Salty Dog'

Procol Harum
A very slightly less drony Coldplay. Nice, but not that memorable.
sounds like it belongs on "Dark Side of the Moon"... I think I like this song, but seems like it is out of context and would like to hear the whole album.

Nice shed. Good place to have a snooze in to lullabies like this. 3 from the narcoleptic Nottingham jury {#Sleep}
Good fit this morning. My beloved Saturday mornings - chillin with RP on, eggs up, bacon, toast and a little OJ.  Surfin the song comments and totally forgetting about anything that needs to be done. At least until the coffee is gone.
a little snoozy
"A rush of blood to the head"
I was sure this was Thom Yorke. Not a bad thing, mind you.

Darned nice. (And any band featured on Ugly Betty is a-ok with me).
