Some of you people talk about the strangest things.... Completely unrelated to the song! Weird.

I stumbled upon the beautiful track "Greenland" by this artist. Nice to see more of his work coming by here :)
I hear the chord sequence of a Red Hot Chili Pepper song here, but can't put my finger on which song? I thought it was an instrumental version at first!

I have several Emancipator tunes in my personal library. They're wonderful for introspective drive time on long road trips.  Love this stuff.

You guys are all wrong. It's a safe. Says so right in the album title.
I'm hearing Mike Oldfield's melodies here....

Absolutely.  Took as long to write as it took to play the song through.  Then add VSTs ad lib., until it's a dog's breakfast like this.  No art, precious little skill, just background music for people playing on their phones.

Better than you, man.  <---  Borrowed from The Big Lebowski, but my point is that he's created something from nothing, and enough people like it that it's now playing on RP.

Sorry you don't like it or think it's an achievement.  The first is your opinion, the latter is your mistake.

We'd always rather have you buy music from the artist.  Buying directly from the artist usually means that they get a *lot* more than if you buy via Amazon or whatever.

Good to know.  Thanks Bill.

Still too bad that RP could not negotiate direct deals with artists like Douglas Appling, for example, and set up a direct link to the artist's website.  RP would make money and over the longer run, smaller independent artists would make more money.

The transactions costs of what I am proposing may be daunting.

Thanks wolfy1!  Currently Soon It Will Be Cold Enough is selling for C$41.33 on amazon.ca.  Steep.  That's clicking through from RP.

Now if I go to the artist's website.... I get it for USD$10 (or more).   The artist gets a higher margin (perhaps) but RP gets nada.

Then I suppose the costs of negotiating click-thrus with individual Indie artists might be daunting.

Definitely. A world-weary lion wondering when all this nonsense will be over. (Not the song - I love it.)
J'adore le frisson que je ressens en écoutant ce chanson.

I like this track well enough (7 rating from me) - the name seems like the opposite of my state's nickname (Evergreen vs Nevergreen) and near the end of the track I start to hear what could be a different segue to PF's "Several Species of Small Fury Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict" - that would be an interesting track to hear here on RP.  Long Live RP!

*EDIT* ...or maybe the next track (Porcupine Tree's Cloud Zero) is the one that sounds like it could be matched with SSoSFAGTiaCaGwaP.....

I would not of made that connection, although there may be a few chords that bring that to mind.
Maggot Brain = One great guitar solo.  Bill, how about going off the deep end and giving Maggot Brain a spin.  Mix it up with this and some Porcupine Tree.
There's a lion in the cliffs. 10! {#Umbrella}

edit: omg Bill you picked Porcupine Tree to follow this. This set is killer!

Terrific album, start to finish!  First time I heard Emancipator, it was as a soundtrack to a mountain biking video.  Awesome slow motion shots of super talented riders in beautiful mountain settings.  I can't listen to this and not playback that movie in my head.

Defintely not. Whatever one sees.

Agree with Snoopy2...but I DON'T play cello or viola.
I really appreciate the cello part...since I play the viola and cello...kinda{#Boohoo}

Make me instantly happy I just upgraded my speakers to a sub-sat NHT system. If they ever make an Angel movie, this needs to be the theme.

I really like Emancipator! My partner's cousin turned me on to his CD's a few months back. Great to hear him on RP!
Definitely Mike Oldfield influence - lifted straight from Incantations Part Four!!!!

4th listen and it just grabbed me.

It immediately reminds me of a Thirteen Senses track, or a Sigur Ros harmony, but I didn't have time to figure it out as I was about to go to work (Greenwich Mean time!). I'll have a listen tonight and report back here.
Try the track "Do no wrong" from "The Invitation" by Thirteen Senses.

So happy to see Emancipator on RP.  I first discovered his music as the background to a Hollywood special effects montage on YouTube.  Hopefully others will have the pleasure of discovering him here as well.

Some of the best chilled beats I've ever heard.  I would use his stuff for dinner parties and the like.
8.

Oh, and yes, it's a lion in the cliffs.

Anyone here ever heard stuff by Dirty Elegance?  It definitely has the same vibe, so if you like this, you will probably like them.
