I'm an unknown individual in an unattended car
Hey, welcome to Chicago or wherever you are
New York to London, Barcelona to Berlin
Sacramento, California, we are leaving again

Away, away, away, away
Away, I'm bound away

I'm circling, I'm swiveling, I'm waiting just to land
I'm trying to come home, but I'm here with the band
Traveling, unraveling, I'm staying on track
My plastic utensil has broken in half

Away, away, away, away
Away, I'm bound away

There's low visibility, gusty wind and rain
My carry-on luggage is still on the plane
Seconds turn to minutes, minutes turn to hours
Hours give you a lifetime and a grave with pink flowers

Away, away, away, away
Away, I'm bound
Away, away, away, away
Away, I'm bound away

Away, I'm bound
Away

Five and a bit years later yet, and I agree! One of my favorite Cake songs.

They made a video of themselves making a book. How cool is that?

Unlike every other Cake song ever recorded, this one lacks that smarmy, detached hipster irony feel that I've always found so repulsive.  They sound like they're actually having fun performing this one.
Baby_M, may I suggest a live performance? I'm certain you'll find sincerity, intelligence, playfulness, poetry and above all FUN in place of the motives you're reading. This machine kills hipsters. Also a kick-ass tight band, for good measure. Who else gives away a live tree at every show?

Wow.  That's a strong anti-cake opinion.  When I first heart this I though, wow, that's kinda nice.  Then I though, man, that sounds like Cake, then I though, yep that's Cake, and then I thought "man I should buy some Cake on vinyl".

Oh well, to each his own.  Me, I can't stand Roxy Music.

Oh look!  Spacemoose has stopped jerking himself off to the politics pages long enough to put (sticky) fingers to keyboard and grace us with some of his bon mots.

This is a perfect tavern drunken singalong. Everyone swaying, hoisting their beer mugs, bellowing at the top of their lungs, and everyone loves everyone.

I'd be right there in the middle of it all with my beer mug hoisted.  Too much fun, but not enough fun...

respectfully, country doesn't suck, you just don't like it. there's a difference.

That's your opinion
The obligatory Cake "hey-ho; aw, yeah" at the end sounded a bit half-hearted. Are they even getting tired of it?
Please pass this song away, lol.  away  away away
I like some of Cakes stuff but this sounds like Ween Light (I love Ween)

This might have been tolerable if not for the accursed horizontal slide guitar thingy which to me is always a warning sign of C&W (or just C), not my favourite music genre. This is one piece of Cake I'll pass on, I think.

Sounds like someone left their Cake out in the rain...yuck

Get on with it.

Where is the paracetamol?
Arrggghhh!  this song ruined my happy New Order buzz..... no sir, I did not like that segue
Anymore cake and I'll choke
Bathtub of warm butter good.

That's not the best Cake I've tasted...

Bill, Bill, Bill, I must disagree with you. Music doesn't, " Continue with Cake." Annoying noise ensues with Cake.

Thanks for the warning though, I was able to hit the Mute button before the, " Music," started.

I love this song.
Where is the f*&#ing yodeling??!!!!
I want to hear the damned yodeling!!
Dammit!

I was starting to tire of Cake, but I really like this one. Will have to check out the rest of the album to see if they have changed their sound a bit, they really needed to. 8!
Did I accidently wander into a Flogging Molly song?

New Cake?!?!?!?  For serious?!?!?!

I love my fellow Sacramentans! And not just 'cause my little sister hung with them before they were big... :)

Same here.

I keep expecting yodeling to come in somewhere....
. . . reaches for ice cream . . .
Yeah for new Cake- looking forward to the rest of the album~
It's aboot time we got more Cake...
Reminds me of their cover of Willie Nelson's Sad Songs and Waltzes, but less corny.

Don't get me wrong, corny is part of Cake's appeal to me!
'Seconds turn to minutes minutes turn to hours
Hours give you lifetime and a grave with pink flowers'

The entire album is great. And made with solar power!

Nice bass vibe - simple and clean. It's a bit different from the campier Cake tracks.
Rockin' back in forth in my chair...{#Arrowu}
