Rains been falling on me
I've been covered in cold
I've been shrouded and downed
My heart is on a wire
Sailing pretty like a bird
But the hunter is out
And the eagle is hurt
The word that I
Feel, feel it all
Yes, I can feel
Feel it all
I'm looking to the sky
And I'll be listening to the stars
And maybe thinking of you
And wondering where you are
Do you know what you've done for me
You made my branches grow
Now they can play with the wind
And they can carry the snow
And they can feel
Feel it all
Yes, they can feel,
Feel it all
So take what you want
Leave what you don't need
And I'll go looking for you
You keep your eye out for me
'cause our heart is on a wire
Sitting pretty like a bird
But the hunter is hunting
And the eagle is us
And we can feel
Feel it all
Yes, we can feel
Feel it all
Oh, we can feel
Feel it all
Oh, we can feel
Feel it all
Feel, feel
Feel it all
And we can
Feel, feel it all
Feel, feel
Feel it all
Oh, we can
Feel, feel
we can feel
feel it all
Feel, feel
Feel it all
Calling KT Tunstall... why is it everyone feels the need to compare every female singer to every other female singer? KT sounds like KT. Period.
Sounds like you are quite sexist!
If there were one thing I could change about RP it would be to outlaw all "sounds like" comments. There are many interesting comments that add to the enjoyment of the music, but sounds like comments not only add nothing, but detract from the music.
OMG. Then don’t read them!!!!
Male singers/rock bands get the benefit of the doubt and taken at face value, whereas most female singers/rock bands have people coming out of the woodwork eager to take them down a peg, usually by painting them as derivative somehow.
It's real. It sucks.

Actually, the melody reminded me of another song, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. After the second verse, it came to me. The melody is nearly identical to Spinal Tap's Gimme Some Money.
Stop wastin' my time

Ah, Spinal Tap. I wish they were still touring. They had the best sets.
KT Tunstall's voice is like having your ears wrapped in silk and honey. It's well balanced in the lower register and has a lovely tonality in the high register, without being a weak, powerless descant (like Ellie Goulding). What's even better is KT has a great deal of control over her vocal technique. She can move from gentle, soothing intonation to a powerful roar, and it all sounds great.
Can you tell she's one of my favourite artists? Each of her albums has a distinct theme and she's not afraid to be musically adventurous. She writes songs that mean something to her, and you can tell where she's at through listening. The album this track's from, Invisible Eye // Crescent Moon, is one of her most introspective albums in part due to the loss of her father and the break-up of her marriage. The story behind the album's creation is also interesting.
Her live concerts are very entertaining. She does some funky solo stuff and occasionally some outstanding covers. I've seen her perform both with a band and solo several times and she's always on form. Superb value for money! Quirky support acts too.
If you enjoy KT Tunstall, you'll possibly also enjoy Lucy Rose. Slightly different but in the same 'breathy songstresses' camp. Another thoughtful songwriter I'm enjoying a lot at the moment, her second album has some great cuts on it.
I've seen some stuff from Lucy Rose on the Watch Listen Tell (WLT) channel and a KEXP studio performance on YT - I like it. (WLT has a lot of newer acts like Ben Howard and Michael Kiwanuka before they hit it big, performing acoustically in the park or some such. I would highly recommend watching, listening, and telling.)
Not sure I'd agree with the Stevie Nicks similarly. Also have a feeling Rumours was recorded on a healthy diet of brandy and coke. Stevie did ok on that. I think most people would be a bit 'screechy' with that much blow up their snout!
Just sayin.

Calling Stevie Nicks....
...well before the cocaine and brandy. Not sayin' just sayin'.
To me, KT has a clearer voice and more range than I ever remember hearing from Stevie Nicks. Stevie's voice was smoky and gravelly on the Buckingham-Nicks album (albeit lovely) and on songs like "Landslide" and "Rhiannon" - before "Rumours", and likely before the dump-trucks full of cocaine started showing up for them.

When does the band jam kick in?
This is a bonus track off the album. The instrumentation on the single version is quite different.

Watch out ! She's a hard headed woman
And I'm looking for a title. and I was
Now you can take away the picture.
Need to know how you did.
Her voice is pretty clear and smooth - nowhere near as screechy as Stevie's.
Yeah, their voices aren't similar at all. KT Tunstall's is much more pleasant.

Very interesting also the rendition of the famous and unforgettable song "La Vie En Rose" sung by KT Tunstall in the original French language, honoring its original author Edit Piaf. The song "La Vie en rose" written in 1945 by Édith Piaf herself, and the melody was composed by Marguerite Monnot and Louis Guglielmi and released as a single in 1947, and from the album "Chansons parisiennes", and later compilations (there are in excess of 80 albums of Édith Piaf's songs). I think KT Tunstall never sang live on stage this song, perhaps because of the difficulty of being sung in the original language.
Thanks for the info, as a French, I can easily understand the harshness as a non-native when it comes to make lyrics sound good in that language, but whichever the accent on "La Vie en Rose", it will always sound cute just because those particular lyrics of long song are cute. Grace Jones made it sound lovely, too, despite a fairly non-standard pronunciation which is actually so seducing... KT has a warmth in her voice which fits pretty well, too.

The federal-state owned CBC radio here in Canada is a big promoter of KT Tunstall. Good, bad or indifferent?
CBC = Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
To detractors, it means Communist Broadcasting Corporation.
I'm a big fan of CBC radio (as well as the French Radio-Canada) and I'm also a big fan of freemarket capitalism.
I think ideology makes far too many people stupid.
i love you. I take back all the mean things I said about you hehehehe you little wrascal. :)

See https://kttunstall.com/biography - probably shot in AZ near where she did the recording. She talked about that in concert here recently: how that hanging out in the desert experience had changed her life, etc.
Country/western? Here? Do you hear this as an example? Either you have problems defining categories or I do not understand your terms. My guess is that most listeners to RP find some music to be over-played or would prefer that it never be played. I feel this way at times. But, my guess in this case is that you don't know C/W music.
If there is one concern I have about RP is frequency of songs on the heavy playlist...way too heavy. Too much of a good thing as well. Too much of songs I despise. Don't know if there's a way to go even more eclectic without losing donation-paying listeners.....but that's my two cents. For me, I just take a break (anywhere from approx. 5 -20 days) from RP (I LOVE SiriusXM The Loft). for awhile, then come back. It's always GREAT upon returning.

You must have had the benefit of listening only to internet/satellite radio for too long to remember what heavy rotation is really like. You should ride with me sometime in my car that gets only FM radio when my teenage girls are listening to the local pop station. Even they joke when the latest Pink or Taylor Swift hit we hear on the way home from a skating lesson is the exact same one we heard on the way there an hour ago. That station must have a rotation list in the dozens. This KTT song has been played 6 times in the past 30 days, FGS!
RP, keep doing what you're doing!
