I was the man that I wanted to be
I had a place where I lay my head
They burnt it to the ground and the sky turned red
I had a life and a place in the world
I had a sweet talkin' wife and a beautiful girl
I know I'm never gonna see 'em again
Gonna tear the world up until I have my revenge
They took my life but it isn't the end
They put me in the ground but I'm back from the dead
I'm the World Ender, baby, and I'm back from the grave
They can run for their lives but they cannot be saved
I'm the World Ender, baby, and I'm coming for them
They put me in the ground but I'm back from the dead
You'll hear me howl in the light of the moon
That's how you'll know that I'm coming for you
Gonna find you alone in the dark of night
When the World Ender comes better run for your life
I'll never bleed and I won't ever age
I'll never feel the embrace of the grave
The fair and the brave and the good must die
I seen the other side of living, I know heaven's a lie
I'll tear through the night, and I'll raise some hell
Cause I'm the World Ender, baby and I'm back from the dead
Lord knows I should be pushing daisies
I was 6 feet down, but something raised me up
Sent back for to lift my curse
I'm gonna me a taste of some chaos first
Untied, gonna get little wild
Go screaming through the dark like a demon child
Close your eyes now, the light is fading
and the noise in the night is gonna get a little louder, baby
I'm the World Ender, baby, and I'm back from the grave
They can run for their lives but they cannot be saved
I'm the World Ender, baby, and I'm coming for them
They put me in the ground but I'm back from the dead...
How is this tune classified? Zombie Surf?

What?
How is this tune classified? Zombie Surf?
This should be in the soundtrack of a Tarantino flick.
I swear it almost is. The soundtrack when Vincent Vega is rolling easy is essentially resampled for the song
Based on comments, it seems this current mix (at lease last four or five songs)was repeated three months ago? Is this a common occurrence?
Yes, there is a fair amount of recycling of segments. It's rare to hear the same 4 in a row, but I'll hear combinations (that work together beautifully).
Zone Blanche is White Spot
Yes, literally translated, it would be "white area," if we're being pedantic. But the show's English title is "Black Spot."
ETA: I know you don't know me, but I lived in France for a long time and speak the language very well.
10:1 this was inspired by the Bill Compton character in True Blood.

This song is so overy cool that that I desperately want a TV series that uses this as a theme.
Something badass that fits it, the way that True Detective Season One used Handsome Family's Far from any Road.
How About Westworld??
I guess you had to be there...
The segue from Beethoven's Fifth to Lord Huron's World Ender shows the 'spirit'. It seems to be lacking loud and clear.
Same segue 4 weeks later
Bill - great segue from Johnny Cash's The Man Comes Around into Lord Huron's The World Ender (love this band. This whole album is so well produced!!)
It's cause of song combo's like this that I keep listening to RP with great pleasure!
Another great segue from Super Furry Animals' Run! Christian, Run! to this song. I think that duo could be preceded by the song Go Outside by Cults (just to make it completely anvilicious).
hearing lots of lord huron lately on RP… it is growing on me.
Thought it was Arcade Fire at first
Yeah. I thought it was The Boss which sound like AF at times. Check out the "Howah!": pure Bruce.

Lord Huron is moving up the ranks of new 'favorites thanks to RP' - 7 to 8 today....Long Live RP!!
this one's a 9 for me now, always love hearing it, Indie Rock at its finest! LLRP!!
This sounds a lot like the music that was featured in the Franco-Belgian Netflix series "Zone Blanche" ("Black Spot" in English). It's a really good series and I watched it over a year ago (or did I? Time has no meaning in this COVID-19 era), so I can't say with certainty that this song was on the soundtrack, but it's definitely got the same feel as a lot of the songs on it.
(Def recommend the series. Two seasons so far. Six episodes each. Great soundtrack. Bingeable.)

Excellent music! Excellent song! Excellent album! 8
That would be Messer Chups...!
I'd call this Gothabilly :)
I.m doing the best I can and hope my small donations help.
Would be a terrible thing not to be able to enjoy RP.
Thank you Bill ans Rebecca.

This album, Strange Trails is especially excellent.
Keep them on frequent rotation Bill

That sent me running to find. MORE.

We're the Peaky F*$kin' Blinders!!
Ian this station and a few others play some great music, have given up on commercial radio

Yes. Or reggae country.
YES!!!!!
Bill - the segway you just did from Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around into The World Ender was BRILLIANT.
Keep em coming!
*bump*
Good call!
Had no idea Lord Huron's music played such a major role.
I'd say a touch of Springsteen too.
I feel more Brandon Lee Crow Spirit in this one
The World Ender just makes me think of a Tarantino film. Lord Huron is my new favorite band. Have been streaming this record and their prior one quite a bit.
Yeah, it's pretty cool. It reminds me of a calmed-down version of The Cramps (if such a thing were possible), the way the singer does that hiccup and warble effect with his voice like Lux Interior did.
Never thought of it until I read your post, but yes you're right!
He certainly sounds similar to The Boss IMHO. Excellent tune, thanks R&B!
Keep em high up on your rotation Bill.

Suggest you go see them if they come to your area. Play more of them for us, Bill.
Nice.
Not heard this before. Want to hear more soon. Excellent choice to follow Deep Purple.
LMAO!!!!!
Strange Trails is a strong album. A good maturation of the work that led to it. Has really held up for me.
I'm pretty sure this is being used for a commercial. Heineken maybe?
Thanks Bill
I always get the impression Joe Strummer could kick in anytime singing the Get Down Moses chorus. But that might be just me.
Apart from that, if you've seen Pulp Fiction lately, you might have the beginning of an explanation.
Thanks Zoum... after thinking about it I'm pretty sure it was Lord Huron I heard.

Great analogies!
This should be in the soundtrack of a Tarantino flick.
