Gotta leave another town
Why you come and go so fast
Like the twinkle in my eye
I guess I'm coming round at last

Watch you go and hold my breath
Moon so bright I think I'll die
I was saving all my love
What you gonna put me through

Where do we begin
I just wanna hold ya
Maybe you might think
I never cared at all

Shiver in my bed
Down my body, head to toe
Tryna find the words to speak
And I don't wanna know

Why you putting out my fire
Pushing embers in my eyes
Now the light is fading low
Wishing I was wrong

Where do we begin
I just wanna hold ya
And maybe you might think
I never cared at all

Can we go back to the start?
Maybe it's all over
And you might think
There's nothing there at all

Where do we begin
I just wanna hold ya
And maybe you might think
I never cared at all

Can we go back to the start
Maybe it's all over
And maybe you might think
There's nothing there at all

This may be the best pop song of the 21st Century, in my opinion.  Great tune, great lyrics, great lead vocal!  Now put your earbuds in and concentrate on the fluid synthesizer bed that flows through the song... so many subtle waves.  I could listen to this song 10 times a day and not get tired of it.  A solid 10 for me!

An Australian "The War on Drugs"?  I like it from the start, with a nice chilled out groove; calling it a 7 for now; LLRP!!

Probably why I like them. Great sound

With Bob Dylan channeling Mark Knopfler in a good mood...

Edit +8 months: throw in some Bruce while you're at it...

Apparently they share the same drum machine.
Love the music and the lyrics! So relatable, even right now!

This one keeps going higher for me every time I hear it… I love the vocals and the soft guitars - very cool depth and effects.
all these comparisons - lovely community - let’s let these artists stand up in their own right. this one starts at an 8 for me. good stuff
I love his voice. And the lyrics are beautiful.

Bumping to an 8

Good voice and tone.  Evocative?
At first I thought it was a new piece from Bob Dylan.

Ditto. I thought I was listening to War on Drugs when I first heard this.

Sounds like a spinoff of Rainbow Kitten Surprise. Bizzare but their singer changed gender in the middle of their touring.
I like this song quite a lot... so a rating of 7 (Quite likeable) seems appropriate.

Believe it or not, this is what I came here to say! Gotta love the RP comments.

WOD and a little Dylanesque  and with harmonica.

Agree wholeheartedly
A wee bit derivative, but just the right amount of gravel and swing....nice one...

Pretty good song.

Except this vocal doesn't sound like the man is about to vomit
