Words aren't enough
I'm clamming up
Swishing my mug
But let's talk about it
Where do you start?
Horse or the cart?
They all miss the mark
But let's talk about it now

Well, the world is getting warmer every day
And the asteroid's already on its way
When you close your eyes and count backwards from five
Aren't you glad to be alive?

Lie on the couch
Let's sort it out
I don't know how
Not to think about it
A large disconnect
Past from present
The brain from the chest
But, let's talk about it now

Well, the reservoir gets lower every day
Another billionaire is blasting into space
If you close your eyes and count backwards from five
Aren't you glad to be alive?

Be alive?
Aren't you glad to be alive?

I'm on automatic
Nothing's problematic
Such a simple magic
Now, I'm glad to be alive
Yeah
Aren't you glad to be alive?

Aren't you glad to be alive?
Aren't you glad to be alive?

Damn, the way that methodical beat hits you SLAM very first thing and then I'm hooked for the rest of the song to figure out "What's the story that goes along with this funky beat? Let's investigate". Solid 8 from the get-go.

I’d have to agree, not my favorite or really enjoyable…. But always nice to get some new exposure
NIN
Gee, no Peter Gabriel  / Elbow influence here, eh?
The "Be alive" instrument sections are really fun and there are some good notes in some other parts. Overall, not my thing, but maybe it'll sneak up on me sometime.
Has a similar devil-may-care attitude as early MGMT, and therefore a starter at 7.
agree. Keep new stuff coming.
It’ll grow on us.
Not saying it’s fungus.
Just will take a few listens.
Or maybe it just sucks.
Wel’ll see.
Won’t we.
Doomrock. The band name must be ironic as there's no joy in this.
Instrumentals, 8; Lyrics , 2. So it gets a 5.
Glad William provided listening guidelines ahead of this. It IS a different experience when played louder and you listen actively.  A 7 for me.
