GOOD TUNE!    Thanx RP!
is it country-western day or something?
This sounds just like 200 other songs. Maybe Landreth was the original (shrug) but even hurricanes are no reason for us to listen to this crap. A solid 3, despite the slide work.
landreth-Goners-Hiatt-Cooder-Lindley-Keltner they are all mixed together on various albums-ALL GOOD
dot puts two bills that's david lindley on slide. cheap bet. dot.

Lack of talent? I would beg to differ. After hearing some of his other offerings on Radio Paradise, I was blown away by this man's talent alone. As for overproduced, maybe on this track, but there is also a live performance by Sonny in rotation here, which just goes to show the man doesn't need a studio to prove his talent.
In close agreement with you...not much is left south of I-10 after our hurricane season of ought five but this will fit and last.

I'm no country fan - but this is pathetic crap, no matter what kind genre you slap on it to make it acceptable. Overproduced lack of talent = turd

What, in the name of all that is sacred, is this doing on Radio Paradise? I recommended RP to friends today!! What if they tuned in and heard this garbage? My musical reputation is shot.
I'm not picking on you, I swear. Somehow, I think your musical reputation will recover, assuming it even took a hit. Sonny's been around a long time and proven himself to more than a few people. And if your friends are so fragile they can't handle a clunker every now and then, I hope they enjoy their own CDs...for the rest of their lives. The diversity of RP is what makes it so fun. I'd be pissed if I liked (or hated, like Mr. Genius) everything I heard on here. Likeable tune, though not one of Sonny's best.

Give me strength through this country shit!

Does anyone hear a little David Lindley here?
A bit, yes. Landreth's tunings, however, are more like Albert Collins's--the guitar is tuned to a chord, generally a minor, and the variations are produced by fingering behind the slide. Still, he and Lindley are contemporaries, and it would be a stretch to think that they hadn't heard each other's playing over the years. The slide community is still pretty small, right? Lindley, Cooder, Landreth, Raitt, Collins, the late, great Duane Allman and George Harrison, Ronnie Wood to a lesser extent, and a few others lesser known.

Sonny is a god. Great voice, great tunes, fantastic slide gee-tar! When he plays with Hiatt's Goners he's even more on fire. More please!
Play that slide, Sonny boy!
