Who lives in a house like this?
Who lives in a house like this?

In number 69 there lives a transvestite
He's a man by day but he's a woman at night

There's a man in number 4 who swears he's Saddam Hussein
Says he's on the chart to start a third world war

Ohhhhh if you find the time please come and stay a while
In my beautiful neighbourhood

At a 110 they haven't paid the rent
So there goes the T.V. with the repo men

In 999 they make a living from crime
The house is always empty 'cause they're all doing time

Ohhhh if you find the time please come and stay a while
In my beautiful neighbourhood, my neighbourhood
My, my, my beautiful neighbourhood, my neighbourhood
My, my, my beautiful neighbourhood

Who lives in a house like this ?
Who lives in a house like this ?

In number 18 there lives a big butch queen
He's bigger than Tyson and he's twice as mean

In 666 there lives a Mister Miller
He's our local vicar and a serial killer

Ohhhh if you find the time please come and stay a while
In my beautiful neighbourhood, my neighbourhood
My, my, my beautiful neighbourhood, my neighbourhood
My, my, my beautiful neighbourhood

Who lives in a house like a this ? (Who lives here man?)
Who lives in a house like this ?

They want to knock us down 'cause they think we're scum
But we will all be waiting when the bulldozers come
In a neighbourhood like this you know it's hard to survive
So you'd better come prepared 'cause they won't take us alive

Ohhhh if you find the time please come and stay a while
In my beautiful neighbourhood, my neighbourhood
My, my, my beautiful neighbourhood, my neighbourhood
My, my, my beautiful neighbourhood

I was confused at first, but it seems there are 2 different bands using the name Space.  This is a French band, Female of the Species was by an English band: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...(English_band)
"who lives here man?"

from Cheech & Chongs' classic movie 'Up in Smoke'

"...i wasn't looking at his neck"
Holy Moly! I haven't heard this in ages!!!
These guys are good, my favorite queasy listening music!
I bet set-theoretic topologists love this song

I'll have some gypsy blood if you passing it round.
is that a donkey I hear in the background?  Cool neighbourhood!
RP continues to surprise. I like that this was the song chosen instead of the more recognized "Female of the Species."
I like the Cheech 'n Chong sample
Reminds me of Tom Lehrer's "My Hometown"
Great fun. People need to lighten up. It reminds me of B52's a bit. Not deep, but catchy and whimsical.
He just needs to sound a little more snotty, whiny, etc.
Splendid nonsense. In a strange twist, I was christened by a vicar called Mr Miller!

PS. Correct Wiki entry here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...(English_band)
I gave it a 10. Funny lyrics and a catchy tune.

Plus, I have a similar neighbourhood, full odd and weird people.
i like it bill
Quite exactly the kind of music I tried to avoid by listening to RP.

Like the song, but can't help but picture Adam Sandler singing this. I wonder if his little singing skits were at all influenced by them.

There's a joke in there but I'm just not gonna go there...
Horribly annoying
Snow and Katmandu, she looks the other way
Who's sponsoring denials in fire arenas she wants to know.
Great to hear Space on RP. Can it really be 18 years or so since this came out?
sounded like a Mescaleros tune without Joe Strummer when it started- like it!

Not their greatest. But perhaps Bill will consider playing Female of the Species? In honor of upcoming Halloween?

Female of the Species is indeed more beautiful, whereas this song is fun, but also a bit silly of course.

My god, a straight 9, what a fun song!
I must be getting old, this is awful.
Only 5.5 for this seems little harsh.

It may have the artistic integrity of Pink Floyd, but it's load of fun.
Cool.  :)

it's super mod, futuristic cocktail scene mann, banned in '56 for its incomprehensible lyrics and suggestive rhythms, bootlegged and colorized here for your voyeuristic listening pleasure.  ..so tie your shoes - and keep your hands above the table young man.  let's call this a 9 for being disco, trashy and breaking the rules.  eff the haters, seriously

Really??? In modern parlance emasculated generally means to make something weaker/worse rather than the older definition of removing a man's masculinity, but I should have known better than to expect you to know or understand the nuances of the English language!!

Interestingly, if you're concerned with superfluity in the English language, read the following by your very own Samuel Clemens:
.
"...For example, in Year 1 that useless letter "c" would be dropped to be replased either by "k" or "s", and likewise "x" would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which "c" would be retained would be the "ch" formation, which will be dealt with later. Year 2 might reform "w" spelling, so that "which" and "one" would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish "y" replasing it with "i" and iear 4 might fiks the "g/j" anomali wonse and for all.
.
Generally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeiniing voist and unvoist konsonants. Bai iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez "c", "y" and "x"— bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez —tu riplais "ch", "sh", and "th" rispektivili.

This made me larf.

thats carp init - how is it done then? wheres the emoticon with 'a big fat one'? Boo!!

Why so low? Loads of fun and original!
Fun! {#Bananasplit}

Those are hilarious lyrics. Wry, witty, blackly comic.

Nice upbeat tempo, catchy melody, interesting effects. Can't see why this has such a low rating. Oh wait, thin skinned folk whose sense of compartmentalized reality is offended by lyrics.  Yeah that must be the thing.  Good thing they don't have hacking skills or RP might be in trouble.
hahaha!!!!!
That song is in the soundtrack of the movie "The Real Blonde". I haven't seen the movie but the record is great.
I love that song.
"Who lives in a house like this?" was the catchphrase of a strangely popular UK TV show Through the Keyhole, where the inimitable and quite irritating Lloyd Grossman would go through a celeb's house and invite the panellists and audience to guess who it belongs to. The 'celebrities' were usually attention-seeking D-list pillocks. I'd have made the effort to watch the prog were some of the folk described in this song - serial killer, butch queen, transvestite - to feature.

I PSDed to this from Wilco's "Jesus, Etc." which I rated a 3. Synchronicity on a plate o' shrimp, man.

PLEASE!! NO!!! I'LL GIVE YOU ANYTHING IF YOU JUST MAKE IT STOP!!{#Yell}

*big sigh*  Ah, the mute button.  My life saver {#Smile}
Dreck of the first order.
After the snooze of Norah Jones.......this make's me get up out of my coma! Play more from this CD.

Wonderful! You've all got cloth ears! {#Tongue}
The Space logo on the album cover threw me for a while.
Turns out that they have nothing in common with the pretty far out french synth band Space from the seventies.
The logo is verry similar...

I dig the obnoxius English though.

This is just HORRIBLE ... ! OScar
What the hell? This is offensive on every level... practically in Dengue Fever levels of suck.
This was awful over 10 years ago. Sounds 100 times worse now. Can we have a minus 10 option please, Bill?
Knew it from the first note! Yeah (In my Beau-ti-ful neigh-ba-hood!)

Think of the Economy. How many man-hours are lost each year due to extra "u"'s and the like? A recent study showed that the UK is losing $100,000 pounds a year just on their refusal to spell 'donut' properly. Fortunately, the next generation will resolve all this with their cellphone chat spelling which bans all vowels.
album cover art reminds me too much of issues I have at home with spiders, but not the reason for the lower rating - just not into staccato rap today, or spell check
This is such a cool tune! Gonna buy this one for my collection!
Not a bad song, but that is a NASTY picture on the cover. Gives me the wiggins!
An alternative take to XTC's Ball and Chain perhaps. heh.
Once again...my most cherished rare CD
Whooo old school Brit-Pop! BRING IT ON!
diggin this
never heard this before and hope to never again
oh my god! I haven't heard this in years! I forgot about this band and this song. Someone upload "Me and You Vs. the world," please. :)

My compliments to the RP listener who uploaded this...I had been trying too. Love, Love, Love these guys!!!!! The lyrics are killer
It's about time the British moved up to the 20th century and dropped the superfluous 'u's.

I find his voice obnoxious, but the music is interesting. I\'m torn.
I think Bill is playing with us sometimes. This song followed the Clash\'s Radio Clash, and I think Bill might be saying \"listen to this:The fresh new sound just sounds like the Clash.\"

ok. i must admit that this one has definitely grown on me. I will actually allow them in my neighborhood. ...and didnt I just hear a brief Tommy Chong sample towards the end of this tune? \"who lives here, man?\" anyone?
Weird & Wild... I kinda like it! And I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn\'s \"Pipeline\" coming next, and thought, \"Oh, great segue! (sarcasm) But it fit really well!
I really like this tune with their special production with small tiny sound effects illustrating the lyrics. I was extremely joyfull when I bought this album in a second hand store just for this song and found out that all the other songs was just as good.
Tooo Dam Funny.....
this guy better not come near my neighborhood.
Great addition!
